    Right I thought about that after I posted. But still I think if something came from the Mayor and Council asking the county to consider raising it that would hold more weight than one letter from me.

    I predict that this forum if it continues down this road will die. Just like the NJ.com Kearny forum and Kearny Alumni.com they wouldn't listen to the posters and look where they are. People are fed up and KOTW will end up with 2 people arguing against each other all by themselves!!!!

    We respectively disagree. KOTW has survived with its ebbs and flows because we have not micro managed the site. Our job is to allow individuals to express their opinion. We may not agree with the opinion or the manner in which it is expressed or repeated but we allow the person to say their peace. The rationale for not setting up a separate National news/Politics section is that "Where does it stop" and "Who is going to decide if a topic should be switched to the National news section?" and "Who has the time for that?"

    KOTW's policy is not to get involved in the discussion but simply to allow the discussion to happen. KOTW's 'try not to edit the posts policy' is what allowrf us to survive. KOTW was never about making a profit. KOTW was about having a place to come and express your opinion.

    May we suggest that you start a Kearny topic and see where it goes.

    Can the KOTW moderator comment on this please?

    KOTW has for years maintained only four main topics, Kearny, Harrison, East Newark and North Arlington. There is also a Support topic for those interested in supporting KOTW.

    KOTW's policy is to attempt not to interfere with topics or posts. On occasion we will consolidate topics but that is the exception rather than the rule. The members and guests have throughout the years self monitored the discussion board. When someone gets out of hand, the other participants let them know and the activity usually stops or is curtailed. The free expression of ideas even those that are annoying at times has sustained KOTW throughout the years.

    KOTW does not intend on establishing a separate section for national politics. If we started with a separate section for national politics, we would then have to establish separate sections on a variety of topics. The sections that have sustained us throughout the years are the sections that we intend to stay with into the future.

    VETS??? What about the fireman? When do we get our praise for being heroes day in and day out with the ambulance and fires all over the place. VETS comes second to us.

Take a moment to click on each of the soldier's names and read their background information then come back here and express your feelings. If you want to discuss why you think the Harrison Fire Department are heroes (or not) please do it under the appropriate thread. Only posts honoring our veterans will be posted here (on this thread). Our Veterans deserve that respect.
