If these 2 kids got into that building, I wonder how many other people got in there and/or live there.
Real safe. The HPD should do something about that.

What good has Villata done for the town? What good have any of them done?

Well, since we now know that the town has extra money to put on a parade, I expect the Memorial Day and Halloween Parades to be brought back this year.
Who paid for the extra police on hand for the parade?
Who paid for the DPW workers to paint the red line on the streets?
Better not have been the taxpayers.
I have nothing against Peruvians, or Hispanics, but this town is, parden my French, f***ed up.

Stevie boy you have it wrong again! You are the one moving to your house in Belmar. Ray doesn't like the shore, and rarely stays there. He is too busy caring about Harrison and it's future when he is not at work earning a living, like everyone else. He is a super nice regular guy who spends a lot of his personal time helping those in Harrison and hoping to build a better future for the town through redevelopment!
Share some of the crack you're smoking.

If something goes wrong in town with 55,000 people in it, and just 50 or so cops (aren't like 7 on at any specific time?) what's going to happen? Will McDonough be around to take the blame? I don't think so.

That little patch of green on Hiram is the ONLY patch of green in Harrison. The children of Harrison are being cheated out of a very important part of childhood, some grass to play on. Every lot has been built on or paved over for a parking lot.
We're in the middle of an enormous redevelopment that will build thousands of new housing units, but not one square foot of grass for the kids. This mayor apparently doesn't think it's important for our kids to have any recreation space. So my advice to you is pay the $150-300 and be thankful you have the space to play on, Harrison's not that fortunate.
The mayor has no kids, so he doesn't care if they have a place to play or not.

The town is taking the summer off, the next meeting is September 5th.

Moran's the towing company. (Did anyone know they "donated" to the McDonough for Mayor fund? And they are one of the towing companies that the town uses. Pay to play maybe!?)
-------------------
From Wikipedia:
In politics, Pay to Play is a practice engaged in by candidates for political office in which contracters and professionals will contribute large sums of money to a political campaign in return for favorable, generally no-bid contracts with the political subdivision to which the candidate is elected to.

If you think the construction project on 280 is going to be bad, with the closing of the Cleveland Ave ramp? wait until the first soccer game at the new stadium, remember the Saprano's when Harrison had to call for mutual aid? same thing except 10-15 times a year... Yeah, can't wait to walk to work!!!
No need to build the 1,500 space parking garage, the whole town will be one big parking lot when there's a game/event.

Does anyone think these independent council candidates have a chance?

What is the concenses on Millan as Mayor, please stick to facts... ?
People on this board don't know how to stick to that facts. Nice try though.

The year is 2010. We have just gone through 4 more years with Mayor McDonough.
6,000 new housing units have been built since the last election and have added almost 5,000 new students to the school system. Trailers are sprouting up everywhere to create classroom space. The parking area under 280 has been converted to a school trailer park. The football field at the new high school also is housing trailers.
The soccer stadium has been unused for two years now, ever since the Red Bulls went belly up and have been unable to sell the stadium. But don't worry, Mayor McDonough is promising a new owner any year now.
Good news !! The taxes are only expected to go up 10% this year.
The "courts" have been sold to a developer who wants to build 6 townhouses on the lot. When a taxpayer asked the mayor about this, he was told "don't worry about it".
Election time is coming up next month. Signs are going up all over town for Mayor McDonough. He's coming up from the shore to campaign next week.
Everyone should vote for Ray, he's doing a great job.
haha!! Sounds like a script for the next four years if Harrison makes the same mistake they did on Primary Day.

Gardens Picnic
in Harrison
Posted
Half the people who live in the gardens don't need to be there (the town employees!), they just like the $50 a month rent (oh, and don't forget the $20 for the a/c in the summer).
