John Edwards, who ran for the defeatocratic nomination on a moralistic platform, has been caught with his pants down. The hero of many Loony Lefties has been shown to be a sleezy hypocrit. Of course, he's just following the example of two other sleelzy defeatocrats, Bubba Clinton and Kennedy. Too bad he didn't get the nomination, I would have loved to see the DNC have a collective heart attack when he exposed.

It's a long list, mainly of Republicans. Are you really that stupid, Patriot?

What a silly question. This is PatRat/2Stupid4Words/BushWhacker. Of course he's that stupid.

Ya think the Right-Wing Hypocrite Club headed by Newt Gingrich and Larry Craig will extend a membership invitation to Edwards? Or the hypocrite George Dumbya Bush who believes the National Guard is a good place to hide from a war except when you use it to fight one? :excl:

As opposed to the moral leaders on the republican side who tend to be gay and enjoy airport bathroom trysts and or young male pages. I could care less what any politician does in thier private lives, it's what they do publically, as a matter of legislation that I worry about because after all that's what acutally affects me.

I guess PatRat's too tunnel visioned to notice the hypocrisy of The Shrub running for President with a policy against using the military for nation building and proceeding to do just that.

Or the hypocrisy of the Little Lyin' Cowboy chastising Russia for viloating the borders of a sovereign nation while HIS debacle in the formerly sovereign Iraq continues.

Of course, he's not a Presidential candidate. On the other hand, the only candidate who has committed adultery is John McCain. He decided who cares about love if my wife isn't hot, so he started cheating when he came home to a wife who had been in an accident, and eventually left his first wife for his current one.

The real hypocrites are the people like 2dim here getting on Edwards' case when their own candidate not only CHEATED on his wife, but ABANDONED her for his mistress.

Clinton = affair

McCain = affair + abandonment of sick/disabled wife and three children who was thoughtful and caring enough never to bring up what had happened to her while he was overseas because she thought it would damage his spirit

There's no comparison.

Yeah, and? Bill Clinton did not run on as a family values candidate. He never said that his moral superiority gave him the right to judge the morality of others, or was the reason why voters should choose him over the other guy. He never claimed to be the defender of traditional marriage. Neither did Edwards.

McCain may not be either, but he is running as the candidate of the party that relies on bogus claims of moral and religious superiority. It is a bigger deal when Republicans are caught with their pants down, since there is such a large chunk of their party that believes that they have the right to dictate what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes, and to deny basic human rights and dignity to those who don't fit within their narrow paradigm of an "acceptable" relationship.

Colmes' question was totally legitimate - if Republicans believe that Edwards' adultery makes him unfit for the Presidency, then what about McCain's? Hannity's lame "he was a POW" excuse just doesn't cut it - McCain began his affair with his now-wife years after he returned. It's particularly lame for a conservative to argue that past trauma excuses present immorality, since they are particularly aggressive about rejecting that claim when the person accused is non-white and poor, instead of the privileged son of admirals.

I just love the way defeatocrats are so quick to give Clinton a pass by simply saying "he had an affair" . As a sitting President, he had an incestuous relationship, perhaps rape, with a young girl, in the White House. He then lied under oath before Congress and the world, denying these crimes. Clinton is a criminal who should have been removed from office and put in jail. John Edwards is no better. He campaigned on a platform of high moral strandards while he was running around behind his dying wife commiting adultry with another woman. Kennedy was another one, he was about as faithful as an alley cat. Defeatocrats talk the talk but they can't walk the walk. Must be something in the Kool-Aid.

Rat:

Do you have any idea what "incestuous" means? Clinton had sex with an adult woman. Congress had no right to ask him questions that were that personal. Democrats are not parading around shouting about "family values." It's the hypocritical Republicans doing that.

It was perhaps rape in the sense that as President he exerted undue influence upon an impressionable young girl that was afraid to resist him. I used the word incest in error, it should have read sodomy. A President lying under oath before Congress is an indictable offense, as is lying before a grand jury.

He should have been indicted, tried and convicted and given 5 years in Levenworth. Also, when did Gingrich, etc. lie under oath to Congress and sodomize a young girl in the White House?

No, but stupid is stupid, and you're stupid. The reaction of Thomas' mother to the accusation is irrelevant to the merits of the accusation and his fitness to serve. "Irrelevant" is a word that I would think Clarence Thomas, and even you, would understand. Yet the complete irrelevance of the remark didn't keep him from making it.

It would be nice if you cared about "little" things like reason and common sense, but you don't. Either that or you're just 2stupid2understand.

Let me get this straight. The republicans for the past 8 years and from now on should get a pass on absolutely everything simply because of Bill Clinton's personal indiscretions. Is that about right?

Why are they called "illegal immigrants", then? The vast majority of them have never been convicted of anything.

Let me get this straight. The republicans for the past 8 years and from now on should get a pass on absolutely everything simply because of Bill Clinton's personal indiscretions. Is that about right?

This is too funny!! The President of the U.S. sodomizes a young girl in the White House, lies about it under oath before Congress and a Loony refers to it as a "personal indiscretion". You gotta love it.
