You're missing out on a golden opportunity here, Patriot. You could demonstrate some real decency and character by issuing a retraction and an earnest apology for your incendiary lie, and show that you are not the gutless, lying piece of garbage that you appear to be.

Today Obama turned loose the Cole bomber, a terrorist who admitted his involvement in the bombing of a US ship that killed 17 sailors. The families of those murdered sailors are in disbelief that Obama ordered him turned loose.
Obama has done more harm to our military's morale in his first three weeks in office than Clinton ever did, no small feat.
We know that Obama has Muslim relatives, I'm wondering if the bomber was a cousin.
Contrary to your blatant and malicious lie, al-Nashiri has not in any sense been "turned loose". He remains in custody, and will be re-tried. Dropping the charges was done to work around one judge's refusal to comply with an executive order requiring all the cases to be halted in order to conduct a review. The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning that the charges can be brought again.

It would be unfair to characterize the Republican party in general as racist. But there's no reasonable denying that it has a racist element within its constituency, and that this is becoming a larger and larger problem for them. Their election of Michael Steele as chairman of the RNC was a good move towards dispelling some of the perceived association with racism, and also has delivered a rebuke to some of the genuine racism within their ranks. In the long run, this is a good trend, if it holds. But in the short term, it comes with a cost. There is an extremist element inside the party that is very unhappy, and threatening to revolt.

Now, I don't believe that David Duke represents mainstream Republican thinking, and I don't for a minute believe that he and his ilk would take anything even vaguely resembling "90 percent of Republicans" with them if they depart. But he does represent the views of a piece of the conservative base that the Republican party would certainly feel the loss of. The electorate is very divided, and many recent elections have been very close, so the loss of even a small constituency has the potential to produce a string of losses.

Negative like the ignorance and bigotry expressed by some of that teacher's defenders on this board. If one were to get the impression that 2Smart4u, Patriot, etc. are representative of the dominant culture of Kearny, then Kearny comes off looking like a town of backwards hicks, a Vidor of the north. Not the kind of impression you want to give to people who might want to move or bring a business to Kearny.
I can fully understand why Town Tec would not want to link here. It isn't meant as an insult, or to say anything bad about KOTW provides, but there are a lot of user posts here that paint Kearny in a very negative light.

I can summarize it for you:
Invisible magic man says the magic words "let there be X", and poof, X magically springs into existence. This goes on for 6 days, until all the X in the universe has appeared (apparently with artificially aged fossils, and light from distance galaxies already in transit, since this all happened only 6,000 years ago). Then invisible magic man had to take a day of rest because, phew, saying magic words and watching things poof into existence is hard work. Apparently still resting, as no one's seen any sign of him.
Creationists like Patriot think that this hocus-pocus fantasy is better than science.

Your not exactly a financial whiz, BillyBoy. 14% interest tells the story. Mortgage rates are at 6% but the Slimes had to go to Mexico to find someone to lend them money at 14%, that's almost loanshark rates. BTW, they also had to consolidate their office space and move out of two floors of their building so they could rent out the space. Sounds like Krugman will soon be looking for a job.
The investor happens to own 6.4% of the Times, and plans to increase that to 17%. The high interest loan will strengthen his influence by making the part of the company that he doesn't own indebted to him, while the debt held by his own stake is less consequential because he is both creditor and debtor. He has a vested interest in the NYT's success, and obviously a belief that it will succeed. He would not be pumping in money and increasing his stake otherwise.
But never mind any of that. Just push all those nasty facts out of your mind. I'm sure you'll be much happier to just remain ignorant and keep believing that this is the NYT's death knell.

The story is real, but it turns out that the original letter was signed "Lt. Col. Scott Pleus", and did not contain that last line that you are so fond of. That line and the byline are the work of some unknown forger.
Also worth mentioning is that the original complainant is a Vietnam veteran who apologized profusely in a follow-up letter to the paper (Arizona Republic). There appear to be two versions of this that are widely circulated (the one you posted, and one with the correct byline and no added line about Jesus), and neither mention this apology, which leaves this fellow looking, rather unfairly, like an unpatriotic and unapologetic jackass.

I don't believe Patriot was being truthful about his motivation. Newdow is no Fred Phelps. All Newdow has done is stand up for his rights and those of other non-Christians. Racists in the 1950's and 1960's did not hate black people because of Martin Luther King. They hated Martin Luther King for standing up for the rights of black people, whom they already hated. I'm not accusing Patriot of racism, but I believe the comparison is not at all unfair. Patriot has displayed a degree of bigotry that is comparable to hood-wearing, cross-burning Klansmen. The target of Patriot's bigotry is different (liberals, humanists, atheists), but the spirit is the same.

Science does continue to make new discoveries. An example is the modern microscope that allows scientists to uncover the incredibly complicated make-up of the human cell , DNA, cilium propellers, etc. Funny thing about these discoveries, many scientists are beginning to doubt how simple evolution can account for their existence.
So if some scientists are beginning to have doubts perhaps you should re-examine your "humanism", you may be on the wrong track.
The idea that evolution is somehow "in trouble" is a fantasy perpetuated by creationists. A fabrication that ministers and other charlatans pass on to the willfully gullible, who maintain that belief only by avoiding any honest investigation into what the scientific consensus actually is.
If you value your belief in falsehoods over the truth, and it is readily apparent that you do, then I recommend that you cover your eyes and ears in the presence of any information from legitimate and respected sources. Any reduction in your ignorance could be devastating to your beliefs. Luckily for you, there are many disreputable sources that will provide a wealth of information filtered and/or fabricated especially for sustaining your beliefs. These will allow you to maintain and cultivate your ignorance, while simultaneously providing a means for deluding yourself into thinking that you are knowledgeable and well-read. Some of these, most famously "Dr." Kent Hovind (currently in prison for tax fraud), have fake credentials to help bolster your faith that they are actual, credible, experts. Better yet, a few (Dr's Michael Behe and Duane Gish, for example) have genuine credentials, which will allow you to pull the blinders in close and pretend that they are representative of scientists in general, rather than as the discredited fringe element that they actually are. Sounds blissful, doesn't it? Religious charlatans are a dime-a-dozen, so there are many such resources available. Here are a few of the better known ones to get you stared:

Amazing. We have a near-tragic event that has instead brought out the best in many people. It has shown that there is still a lot of good in humanity. Heroism and compassion from ordinary people. Complete strangers.
But what does Patriot see in that? An opportunity to express his bigotry. An opportunity to make unprovoked and unfounded remarks against a group of fellow Americans whom he hates. This from the same "Patriot" who regards others as "mean spirited" and "hateful" merely for suggesting that the government that represents us all should do just that, represent us all, not just people who share the same religious beliefs as he does. What a despicable display of hypocrisy.
You speak from raw bigotry and willful ignorance, Patriot. You know absolutely nothing about how atheists on that plane, or in any other life threatening situation, reacted. Yet you have formed a belief about it. A belief not informed by any knowledge, or by any desire to find truth, but founded entirely on your prejudices. The honest truth is that you know nothing about this. But you place no value on honesty, truth, or knowledge. Only belief.

You really need to come to grips with the fact that you are not the sharpest pencil in the box. When others express themselves with more eloquence, more intelligence, and more accuracy than you, it isn't to make themselves appear smarter than you. They just are. The appearance is simply reality. Just as when someone stands next to someone who's shorter, it isn't to make themselves appear taller. They just are. Smart people should not have to feign stupidity, and tall people should not have to stay hunched over, to hide their differences.
If you exhibited a bit of humility, honesty, and some desire to learn and to become the best that you can be within whatever abilities you have, you wouldn't find yourself looking and feeling inferior, or as the butt of everyone's joke, nearly so often. People will respect thoughtfulness and earnestness even if it isn't accompanied by brilliance. Just being a good person will get you respect, even if you're not lucky enough to be endowed with great (or perhaps even normal) intelligence or other abilities.
You are like a short guy walking around on stilts, trying to convince everyone that you're the tallest guy in the room, and deluding yourself that your ruse is working. But in reality, not only can everyone still see that you are short, but as a result of your pretense, they regard you as a phony as well.
This post may seem like a pretty nasty and viscous jab at you. And I suppose that in some sense it is. But the intent is not as mean-spirited as you might think. You really could benefit from a bit of brutal self-honesty, just as we all sometimes need. It can be temporarily painful, but you'll be a better person for it.
Don't think that I'm claiming innocence or moral superiority. I've had to come face-to-face with my own failings at times, and had to exercise some brutal self-honesty of my own in order to improve. I have little doubt that I still have traits that are in need of this. I just don't know what they are. Such things tend to be visible to everyone except one's self. That's why a verbal "slap in the face" from someone else is sometimes needed.

Or "loony" or "kool-aid" or "defeatocrat".
Though the forum software can't search for it, watch for double question marks (often preceded by a space) and for posts that have a carriage return at the end of each line in the results of the above searches. (the latter will appear mostly in older posts, it hasn't been seen much since it was pointed out a few months ago)

This last group has more stylistic differences, but that may be simply a matter of the puppeteer being more "in character" for these more specialized puppets that seem to appear out of the blue for certain topics, then disappear.
Often, these suspicious posts contain more than one of the tell-tale characteristics, and all exhibit a far-right ideology. While it is possible that these posts may be the work of more than one person, it is almost inconceivable that they could ALL be from different people. It is highly likely that at least some of them are puppets, and also likely that the person who posts as 2Smart4u is among the puppeteers, and possibly the only puppeteer involved.

Congratulations, you've been initiated. Most who express agreement with Paul get accused of this by this guy sooner or later. Looks like you got it sooner.
Since you're new here, a bit of history: 2smart4u has frequently been suspected of sock-puppetry himself. I won't make any firm accusation of that, as I've seen too many cases where different people of similar ideology just happen to have suspiciously similar writing styles. But, even so, those suspicions have much stronger supporting evidence than 2smart's accusations towards others. But he keeps on accusing, apparently based on no more evidence than someone having expressed agreement with his perceived arch nemesis, or for having expressed themselves intelligently, as Paul would do. Maybe this is out of resentment for having been falsely accused himself, or maybe it is due to some strange psychological need to project his own misdeeds on others. Maybe some mix of the two. I can only speculate at what the cause is, but I'm certain of one thing that it isn't. And that is that there's any good reason to think that you actually are a Paul sock puppet.
