Guest ko
I really think it's time that the good people of this forum stops responding to the crap 2smart4u is posting. It's like he gets a memo from the RNC every morning on what to post. Even if he seems informed upon adding a topic to on these boards, and even if his topic spurs good debate, he never seems to get involved. He just posts the Fox News talking point of the day at once and signs off. His goal is to simply flood these boards with opinionated nonsense, hateful buzzwords and scandalous, overdramatic topic titles in an attempt to sway people to his way of thinking or to piss off people smarter than him (I don't really know yet). The bottom line is, if 2smart4u is not a just a bitter asshole who can't get over the 2008 election, he is a D**bA** with a dangerous message. So even if you can't resist smacking him down, or if his point of view seems intelligent and informed for just one second, remember that he is only some jackass who wants to vent and/or stir shit up. Ignore this loser until he goes away. We proved just how unintelligent he is already. We've corrected him enough times. All of us dug up information when he failed to. I love having friends that disagree with my point of view. Debating politics is one of our nations greatest past times, and I'm told it truly is uniquely American. Don't think I'm getting down on every Repub or Conservative who posts on this board. I like doing this. 2smart4u's crap has gotta stop though. It's incessant. How many topics is this asshole going to start before the webmaster puts a hold on his account? He isn't choosing battles, he's starting 20 and then running away from all of them. It's ridiculous. He has no passion for anything except for the party line.

Why would anyone lower themselves to engage with 2dum? 2dum loves and gets off on all the attention he gets. Ignore and marginalize him for he never brings anything to the table. Debating him is like wallowing in a filthy sewer.

Guest Paul
ko, I would agree with you wholeheartedly except that people come here, read the nonsense he posts, and believe it. It's why Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck, Coulter, et. al., are so dangerous. They say ridiculous things, without the slightest regard for the truth, that play into popular fears and biases. They know that if they say enough ridiculous things, eventually the mountain of crap becomes so high that no one can avoid the stench - it's the big lie being played out yet again by the right wing. So it's important that misinformation be corrected. I would like to see positive topics presenting facts and reasoned analysis.

Your post is very interesting and telling. Yes, I have used obscenities directed at Patriot and 2smart. They are probably the same person. I have done it for a reason. What is your definition obscene? A handful of words that are at best objectionable and at worst basically harmless? What I find obscene is ignorance, apathy, a "kill 'em all and let god sort them out" mentality and what I suspect to be racism. To name only a few. What are your priorities "guest"? A few stupid cusswords or perhaps letting war criminals off the hook? My priorites are fine. I'm not sure about yours. By the way I don't think 2smart should be censored. Everyone has the right to be an idiot.

How unusual that you think only Republicans/Conservatives are "so dangerous". Is it because O'Reilly and Company speak the truth and have the highest rated programs on cable? There are millions of people that watch these "dangerous liars" every night and believe their conservative opinions. Your favorite news program, MSNBC, which has about 12 viewers nightly is a dismal failure, which tells me the American public is getting wise to people like you that want a socialist society and are rejecting your leftist views. Guest ko
If somebody told you there was a "health care takeover" afoot, how would you react? And what if, as part of this "takeover," "death panels" were formed to "pull the plug on grandma?" Now, most of us know that health care was taken over a long time ago by greedy insurance companies. You pay them a hefty percentage of your pay check so that later they can say "sorry, you're not covered for THAT." Many of us know that the only "death panel" that ever existed in America has now disbanded. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld will never again sit at a round table and plan the deaths of countless Iraqis and American soldiers. And as for pulling the plug on Grandma, well, if "Obamacare" is successful, she can decide that for herself after receiving free end-of-life counseling. I really don't know if 2dumb4words ever used the buzzwords "death panel" or my favorite catchphrase "pull the plug on grandma," but the bottom line is that they are bullshit. They are dangerous F**KING bullshit terms made to scare people away from logical, open-minded thinking. Instead of summarizing the health care bill in congress, or discussing it with any seriousness, he would rather DUMB IT THE F**K DOWN. And it does not get any F**KING dumber or more insane than calling it a "takeover." A "takeover" is something more like invading a country for no F**KING reason. Seriously, though, man. I know you LOVE the private sector. I know how "American" it is to privatize. Capital, capital, capital. I know, I know. We should make everythign private. Right? Like uhhh... the millitary. Because private is always better. Like Blackwater. Do you want to talk about Blackwater for a bit? About how they're paid more than OUR AMERICAN ARMED FORCES soldiers and held less accountable when they kill somebody for no F**KING reason. YOU, DID YOU PUT "SUPPORT OUR F**KING TROOPS" STICKERS ON THE BACK OF YOUR F**KING CAR? LIKE AN IDIOT, YOU MADE SOME F**KING MAGNET MOGUL RICH, AND THEN CURSED AT ME AND CALLED ME UNAMERICAN CAUSE I LIKE GAY PEOPLE AND HATED THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION AND SAID THAT WHAT WE DID IN IRAQ WAS ILLEGAL, AND THEN YOU SUPPORTED AN ADMINISTRATION THAT PISSED ON ITS SOLDIERS. And before you fire back, you F**KING partisan prick, I know Obama has been big pimpin' Bush-style with national offense/security/personal-life invasion. I ain't know Democrat, though. Don't even try that bullshit. Privatize my BALLS, assholes. Peace. F**K this forum. Learn Chinese. Fast.
Guest SmKat
Wow. You are so wrong it's absolutely hilarious. Please point out one "lie" perpetrated by MSNBC or anotone other than FOX. He can't. But that's not really the issue. We live in a free society where everyone has the right to express their opinion. For what it's worth, Fox News does indeed lead in the ratings. That can't be disputed. However, just because people are watching doesn't mean they are buying. I cite the landslide election victories by the Democratic party in the mid-terms and also the recent Presidential election. I'm wondering where all those viewers were on election day. If you go by pure numbers, McCain should have crushed President Obama. And yes, if history is our guide, the Democrats will lose some seats in the next mid-term election. That's part of the American democracy. You win some elections and you lose some. Personally, I think that there are more important things to discuss than cable news ratings. But if that's all he's got.....OK. I'll chime in but that will be all from me on this subject.

WilliamK
Right. O'Reilly is a dangerous fear-monger. As #1 on cable news he has millions of people believing his vicious lies every night. We need Obama to nationalize TV and kick these radical conservatives off the air. That's what our Founding Fathers would want. Here's how freedom of speech works: Person A is free to speak his or her mind, with only a few practical restrictions such as slander or inciting a riot. Person B also has that same freedom, which includes, but is not at limited to, the freedom to criticize what person A says, to criticize person A's motivation for saying it, and to comment on whether person A was right to say it. Free speech wouldn't be very free without that, now would it? Person B's criticism of person A's speech does not in any way infringe person A's freedom of speech. Nor is it reasonable to assume that engaging in such criticism implies a desire to have person A's freedom of speech infringed. In a nutshell: Freedom of speech includes the freedom to criticize. It does not include freedom FROM criticism. O'Reilly et. al. ARE dangerous fear mongers, spreading vicious lies. The way to counter that in a free society is not to take away their freedom of speech, but to use our own freedom of speech to call them out for it. Which is exactly what Paul was doing when you decided to counter his post with your utterly stupid remark above. See how it works? You used your freedom of speech to say something stupid, then I used mine to point out how stupid it was. Your speech has been criticized, but your freedom of speech has not been infringed. You remain free to continue saying things, stupid or otherwise.

As the #1 cable news guy, think of the millions of viewers he's indoctrinating every evening. Soon we'll be overrun with an army of radical right-wing zombies and we won't be able to avoid the freedom to think and choose our own healthcare in the private market.
