What! You're not going for a recall petition?

Seriously, 2012 is a long time to wait. What if the economy is better by then, Al Qaeda is stopped dead in its tracks and we're well on the way toward energy independence?

Won't make the slightest difference to you, will it.

Time for a history lesson. The Tea Act lowered taxes on tea imported into the colonies by the East India Company. It was designed to break a boycott on British imports by making British tea cheapest. It was, in effect, a protest against lowering taxes. Read a book, moron.

"What if" ??? Pathetic. The Loonys have been reduced to "what if's". In other words they recognize the U.S. is in serious trouble but choose to cover their eyes and ears. Obama's borrowing is approaching 4 Trillion which means bankruptcy is looming. The banks recognize the danger and are trying to distance themselves from Obama by giving back the stimulus money. Unemployment continues to rise at record levels as Obama keeps saying it's all Bush's fault.

Obama has also shown himself to be a serial liar. During the campaign, he was bringing home the troops from Iraq with a deadline this summer. That's turned out to be a lie, we're now staying in Iraq and we're approaching 100,000 troops deployed in Iraq and Afganistan.

He's now trying to "forgive" all the illegals living here and make them citizens, skipping all the aliens waiting in line and playing by the rules.

Obama has continued to demonstrate he's not up to the job of POTUS. I'm afraid to think where we'll be in 3+ years if the democratic congress doesn't wake up, but with Pelosi and Reid in charge I don't think that is likely.

Now of course the Loonys will continue to ignore all this while they merrily skip down the yellow brick road to Oz looking for the hope and change their Messiah has promised them.

Some people just require an explanation for everything. The Tea Parties being planned around the country are SYMBOLIC of the uprising of the population at that time in history. Everyone (except you apparently) knows this is not about tea. Patriot was right about you.

The symbolism is garbled. Are they saying they aren't being represented? A general act of rebellion? It has been TWO AND A HALF MONTHS since he was sworn in. Jeez, people.

Why don't you stay on the original thread instead of creating a new one? What too much Kearny talk for ya? Stop hijacking this site. And KOTW how about setting aside a Political section for these debates.

Dear stupid,

The country is in the trouble your guy got us into. Obama is trying to dig us out.

Meanwhile, the stock market is up and so is confidence. That's amazing for being in office for less than three months.

We know they are symbolic. The problem with them is that they are reflexive, not thoughtful. The country is in one hell of a mess as a result of bad policies. It's going to take a lot of money to dig us out. If that means we have to pay higher taxes for a while after the dust settles, it's still infinitely better than having the economy completely collapse. We wouldn't have this problem if we had acted responsibly in the first place.

Do you right wingers ever think at all?

We'll just have to wait and see. No liberal that I know of is saying that Obama is guaranteed to be a good president, but he is off to a good start in my opinion. He has kept his cool and done what is necessary, and so far the results are good. The stock market is up, confidence is on the rise, the American people are strongly behind him and economists are cautiously optimistic that we have made considerable progress in undoing the damage that had been done. The climb out of the ditch will be a long one because the ditch was deep.

The pity is, nothing matters to you ditto-heads except the talking points your masters feed you. You don't seem to have any idea just how sick most of us are of you, and you don't seem to care. But the fact is, you don't know what's going to happen and neither to we, so just take a deep breath, do anything you can to help make things better and we'll talk about where we should go next when the time comes.

4 Trillion in the hole = "off to a good start". Only from the mind of a Kool-Aid swigging liberal could you read that.

Most economists say it. Most of the American people say it. Today's Gallup Poll, for example ("Americans Most Confident in Obama on Economy"): http://www.gallup.com/poll/117415/American...ma-Economy.aspx So obviously your definition of a Kool-Aid swigging liberal is anyone who doesn't agree with your radical right-wing point of view.

Let's try to use an example you might understand. When you let your house fall apart and the roof caves in, the foundation is crumbling and the electrical and plumbing systems are shot, don't be surprised that you have to spend a lot of money to fix it. If you had been smart enough to make necessary repairs early, you could have avoided the big expenses later on, but you weren't smart so now you have to pay to fix the problem. And of course, you have no solutions or alternate proposals except to go back to the policies that caused the problem in the first place.

Here's an AP story from yesterday you're sure to hate. "WASHINGTON — The U.S. economy is showing only glimmers of life and two costly wars remain in the balance, but President Barack Obama's 'no drama' handling of the Indian Ocean hostage crisis proved a big win for his administration in its first critical national security test." Of course, you'll blame Obama for not cleaning up all of Bush's mess in his first 90 days. Fortunately, your fellow citizens have more sense than you do.

Obviously, Jon Stewart is right: you're confusing tyranny with losing. http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jh...nophobia---Obey

There was only one dynamic that a majority of Americans agreed on in this poll.

58% say that have no or almost no confidence in the Republican leaders in Congress to do or recommend the right thing for the economy.

Of President Obama, Democratic and Republican leaders in Congress, Ben Bernanke and Timothy Geithner, the people have “a great deal” of confidence in only one: President Obama (38%). The next highest percentage for a “great deal” of confidence goes to the Democratic leaders in Congress, at 10%.

The Republican leaders in Congress get only 5% who have a great deal of confidence in them, which means that even the ditto-heads don’t believe in Republican “leadership” right now. (Isn’t “Republican leadership” a misnomer anyway?)

I hope 2dim keeps writing. It only gives the rest of us an opportunity to correct him with the facts.

Yeah, yeah, and only a lefty would vote for Obama - like most of the country. Sorry, but Stewart is a helluva lot funnier than Beck and O'Reilly and he's doing it deliberately; not to mention that he's a lot smarter. I hate to break the news to you, but Beck's on-air meltdown and O'Reilly's annual "war on Christmas" aren't the real world.

Meanwhile, you completely dropped every point you started out to discuss, supposedly. Kinda like a fish: you have a very short attention span.

You do if you watch Fox.

Besides, Stewart isn't right because he's funny. Funny is just icing on the cake.

Really, stop being a right winger and try a little logic next time. You'll feel better.

Just what is it you're celebrating; stock market collapse, massive unemployment, 4,000,000,000,000 in debt (and counting), a corrupt administration, or a new flavor of Kool-Aid??

Actually, the stock market is up, the debt was started under Bush and if you want to talk about corruption, Obama just had to bail the Bush administration out of being prosecuted for war crimes. I think he did it because he didn't want to divide the country.

President Obama said that we dug ourselves into a deep hole and it would take a long time to dig out. He also told us, as every economist is telling us, that it will get worse before it gets better. Most Americans understand that. If you didn't start out by hating him, you might understand it yourself.
