  1. There is a world of difference between the people you mention and illegal immigrants. Joe
  2. Yeah racist. Here is a quote from a thread titled " was I in Kearny ". Do a search on it. This was my first post on this forum and I got clobbered for speaking of tolerance. What is the problem with a bit of ethnic pride? With the games over it will become less visable. I wouldn't want to see it all the time but some tolerance should be expected.
  3. Somehow I new you would be proud of him, his idiotic statements, and name calling. Accountabilty? How? Sign your name if you want to show me something. The above was what I was responding to. I thought he was refering to username. When so many people are either not logged in or not registered following the conversation becomes difficult. He (?) is asking for private info and doesn't even provide a username. If you were involved in pee-wee football or the soccer you should be able to figure things out. I am also sill waiting to see the racist statement I made. Joe
  4. I was there when the notes were handed out. As far as I could tell it was for everyone.
  5. My computer shows me logged in as sparky. When I log out and check the site it shows my posts as sparky.
  6. Admit. As if it were a confession of something wrong. I am quite proud of him. For one thing we at least have chosen usernames. This shows accountability for what you say. But you wouldn't know about that.
  7. I was suprised they started French to my youngest in 3rd grade.

    Nancy Pelosi ???

Speaking with an ass like you could get one leaning.

    Nancy Pelosi ???

Deal with it. I'll be here to discuss it in '08. Will the republicans ???
  10. The reply of cheers only shows the frustration that nothing meaningful can be done. This is a town in transition. In the 60's and 70's it was not like this. To not state how I feel only normalizes this wrong (opinion) behavior. I suppose when my wife gets her nails done at the beauty parlor and everyone including the person working on her is speaking another language is acceptable. Well I say no and will take whatever heat. I have said nothing derogratory in either thread and you jump at the first opportunity of perseived racism. And from this you conclude true character as opposed to every responce which I think was fair. Check my previous post, there are not to many. I think the only thread I resopnded to besides these recent ones had to do with someone complaining about the flags out during world cup. If I recall correctly I responded positivily they are proud of their heritage and it is for a short time and there is nothing wrong with it. Yes you have my true character summed up in one word. You nailed it . And every time someone yells racism wrongly and looks stupid doing it takes some of the sting out of the word for everyone. It seems you are only looking for an arguement.
  11. If I knew the points to coach football I am sure it would be fun. There are things that are better left to those who know how. I have helped out in sports whare I have more experience. For now my involvement with football is watching it on t.v. and watching the kids play. When asked I am more then happy to help out at the games. If you can not grasp the importance of coaching in a language understood by all there is no point even discussing it with you. Much less as an unregistered guest over the internet.
  12. I am sure the coaches are good but I didn't want to assume it would be all non english. You think saying something right away would have gotten diferent results then I received waiting? An offer for translation if my son has a problem.
  13. What I do not like, I do not feel I have a problem, is while the two full time coachs were there the non english speaking volunteer conducted the entire practice from start to finish. This person may have the skills the coach wants to teach but the coach should be doing the talking so all can understand. I waited and listened for 20 min. before questioning it.
  14. I'm sparky's wife and I would like to as a question of all you complaining about the the coaches on the Jr. Pee Wee Football. Why aren't you out there coaching these kids. You sound like the person who likes to comment about things but don't have the guts to put your money where your mouth is. You probalbly sit in the stands and watch or are you one of those parents who looks at these sports as a babysitting sevicre where you drop your kid off and know in two hours you have to go pick him up so you have 2 hours to go sit in a bar or in your warm dry house on your ass watching tv. If your upset about the way these men who may I remind you are there as volunteers giving up there time to coach your kid then by all means go get finger printed and go coach the team. How dare you bad mouth these men who are there for your kids benefit. These men work very hard with these kids and try and teach the rules of the game to kids age 7 - 10 and I think they should be given a medal not a slap across the face. So unless you are on that field working with these men I sugguest you crawl back into what ever rock you crawled out from and leave these men alone. because if your not volunteering to coach then you have nothing to complain about. And one other thing you are what's wrong with the world today it's never your kid that causes a problem it's always someone else's fault it's always the teacher's or coaches fault when these don't go your way. Maybe if you stopped bitching and complaining and open your eyes you would see that these men do the very best they can and donate their time to your kid. So asshole where are you when your kid is at practice because your not coaching are you?
  15. I can agree with the "A" team, "B" team thing. There were alot of kids on the team this year. Two teams allows the kids more playing time. I find it hard to believe anyone was on the field for only one play over an entire game. The coaches devote alot of time into the sport. Two hours a night plus games on the weekends. Some coach baseball and wrestling as well so I have a hard time faulting them for their dedication.
  16. Why cancel practice? The two full time coaches were there as well.
  17. I suppose if the person was helping the coach I may not have even noticed. This person instructed the full practice. He was instructing those who could understand him. I have coached T-ball and I help out at the pee wee football games sometimes. It wouldn't make sense to coach a sport you don't know or are unable to communicate the fine points of.
  18. I forget which night it was but there were 10 posts to this thread and the next morning there were 5. Yer there were posts deleted on this topic. I am sure there are people that can teach soccer at this level that speak English as well.
  19. I guess posts were deleted so I will repeat. No one complained about him being Spanish only that the language he was using was not inclusive to all the children. If the town of Kearny is going to administer the league I am sure certain rules must be followed.
  20. My 8 year old son is on the team whare this happened. It is not that big a deal. The Young Punk is also my son. Perhaps what bothered me about this was everyone thought it was normal. The coach told me if my son had a problem understanding she would translate for him. I understand. We are in America and speak English but we have the problem. I should also add the non English speaking coach ran the entire practice. It was only after listening for 20 min. I asked if it would be at all possible for some of the instructions to be in English. The few children who are "handicaped" by speaking English only have to wait to see what the others do and then catch up. It has to make them feel excluded. As thou they were deaf or invisable. Other parents I have shared this with have said they have seen this before and have felt the same way. Thay have not done anything about it. My wife has contacted the Kearny Director of Recreation and explained this to him and he said the coach could of handeled it better and would speak to her. I guess we will find out if he thinks this is proper. As I sometimes helpout with Pee Wee football I needed to stop by the police station for fingerprinting and background check prior to being allowed on the field with the kids. I hope this is true with soccer as well. I would have introduced myself and asked but I would not of understood his answear. Joe
