Guest Guest Posted October 9, 2004 Report Share Posted October 9, 2004 The times when the bars close in Harrison seem to just be an invitation for drunk people to stand outside and yell and make noise. The cops are so interested in getting people out of the bars, like DK, but it is OK to carry on outside as if the cops were never there. Do they just make sure the bar is closed and then leave. The problem is especially bad at the bar on Harrison Avenue around First & Jersey. The Mayor should have a Sgt. or officer on a walking post around the area instead of just riding by in a police car. Why because he lives behind there!! why should he get special treatment, when every other taxpayer would not. The mayor does not run the police dept!!(he thinks he does) I have seen the officers get out of their cars and make sure the bars are empty and clear out all councilmen!!!!!(hahahaha) and send them on their way. so hats off to the HPD......... Guest Guest Posted October 10, 2004 Report Share Posted October 10, 2004 I think the Mayor made it pretty clear who runs things when he made the absolute minimum number of promotions off the last list. Wait till the new list comes out and you are gonna see some real tears from the guys who got burned on the list that ran out. The real problem is that the union officials on certain squads such as EM and DD are the ones who run the squad and the Sgts. and Lts. do not have the guts or leadership ability to live up to their title. Popularity within the PBA is more important than who runs police matters. There is not one supervisor who has the guts to stand up to EM, especially the squad he is on now, so he does whatever he wants and everyone knows it. It sets the tone for the whole department. Weak leadership has led to many incidents that could have been avoided and most likely will continue. Favoritism toward certain individuals is noticed by all. Guest Guest Posted October 12, 2004 Report Share Posted October 12, 2004 don't talk about elite group there you have pint of misspellings, you should have been sent to some sort of reform grammar school spelling course by now. all squads have clicks even the d.b. how else can the dept run? on merits? grow up, perhaps you might have been burned by old wirearms in the past, well here's a clue get out! transfer to another dept if they want you, look three of the ptlm off the last list that didn't do well on this test have filed their paperwork @ essexx co.pros.go compete w/ hinchcliffe and lucas for a spot. word is the selections begin this week.
