Guest Melanie Tomaio
Sacred Heart School located at 22 Wilson Ave in Kearny is closing on June 30, 2007. The parents were invited to am important meeting this past Friday where the Archdiocese announced the school will close at the end of this school year. The students will be told on Monday Feb 12th although the majority of them were told by their parents after the meeting,. There are 24 students who are away on a school promised Snow tubing trip and have not been told yet. The school enrollment is currently 135 students and it was determined that there would need to be 225 and that tuition would have to increase from its current $2500 to $4000. One of the largest problems facing Sacred Heart has always been that t here was no parish associated with the school as there is no church and was run by the Sisters of Pallottine from Harriman NY
