Guest Guest
It appears that Peter Santana is getting help from his brother in law, Harrison Councilman and holder of 4 jobs, James Doran. Doran pushed hard for Santana to put the county committee to chose Santana over long time councilwoman Carol Jean Doyle who was briefly the interim Mayor as Council President. The vote that put Santana over Doyle in the Council meeting was cast by an employee of Passaic Valley Sewerage Authority. Doran is a Commissioner of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Authority. Another Kearny Councilman was appointed to be the Clerk of the Hudson County Freeholders and some are saying his vote was bought with that appointment. It appears that the Republicans in Kearny may have an opportunity to win with Sydney Ferreira running for Mayor and the Democrats splitting votes. A little patience from Doran may have gotten his guy in as Mayor in two years but he knows from experience in Harrison that you can't trust people who state they will be an interim Mayor. Mayor Fife was to be an interim Mayor and reneged on that agreement with Doran's blessing.
