Guest Guest Posted November 7, 2021 Report Share Posted November 7, 2021 TOWN OF KEARNY SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE November 15 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Re: Application for Payments in Lieu of Taxes 55 Passaic Avenue, Kearny, New Jersey Block 1, Lots 2.03, 4, 5, 6.01, 6.02, 7, 8.01, 8.02, 9, 10 and 11 To All Interested Parties: The Town of Kearny will hold a Special Meeting on November 15, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chamber, 402 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, N.J. regarding the request by an affiliate of Russo Development for an Agreement for Payments in Lieu of Taxes (“PILOT”) under the New Jersey Long Term Tax Exemption Law for the proposed residential development at 55 Passaic Avenue. A copy of the application is available on the Town’s website: www.kearnynj.org. All interested parties may appear at this meeting to speak about the proposed PILOT. Comments may also be mailed to the Town Clerk at 402 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, New Jersey 07032 or e-mailed to the Town Clerk: pcarpenter@kearnynj.org to be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on November 15, 2021. Guest Guest Posted November 15, 2021 Report Share Posted November 15, 2021 Looks like Mayor Santos kept adjourning the application from Russo until past the election and now his PILOT reviewer has changed his opinion that PILOT should be granted. Nice. Russo's get to collect high rents and pay no property taxes. 200+ units more. Passaic Avenue is going to be a parking lot during rush hour.
