Guest Taxpayers Pay The Price
Now the process begins as the Mayor has set up his friends to make a big payday by a law suit that will result in nothing but big legal bills charged to GUESS WHO the taxpayers of Kearny. So are you that stupid to think the Mayor is acting in your best interests or the legal community. Don't be fooled by this money grab by lawyers that love this Mayor. BIG BILL FOR THESE SERVICES IS COMING SOON.
Guest Guest
EVERYONE LOVES MAYOR SANTOS! He will be the Mayor for the next 20 years. Pay your property tax bills like good little trolls and get a 2nd job to pay the increases. The school portion of your tax bill is going way up next year. Firefighter promotions and hiring additional Firefighters are also in the works. Please consider making additional voluntary contributions of $200/month to the town coffers. Do you think you are going to live in paradise forever without paying your fair share? The poor children and underpaid smoke eaters need the money. 😥 Have a heart. And the legal bills keep coming and coming and the taxpayers get stuck with the bill and this all could have been avoided but Mayor Santos allowed this landfill to be opened in the first place, now he is on the bull horn saying close it and spending I would guess millions of dollars in legal fees for something that shouldn't have been allowed to open in the first place. Don't be fooled taxpayers this Mayor is the sole reason why we have this landfill open. CHECK THE COUNCIL MEETING RECORDS!!!!!!!!!! THEY DON'T LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest Guest
Mayor Santos says taxes went down but they have not gone down. Every year they go up. The Kearny Board of Education costs continue to rise and the Mayor does a decent job of managing the town but even though he has "friends" on the Kearny Board of Education he cannot control those people because of potential backlash against him election day and therefore he allows the poor performance despite increasing costs. On Keegan Landfill, he has no choice. The people will revolt against him if he does not stand on the right side of the issue, cap and close. Ironically, he was the Mayor who allowed Keegan to reopen. He was the Mayor who hired the lawyer who did not properly write a contract with Hudson County to open the landfill. The promises of golf course were made but never incorporated into the contract reopening the landfill. Nobody can beat Mayor Santos at this point. Too many interests are benefiting from him being Mayor. He is doing a decent job but he is far from perfect. And the Keegan Landfill will close thank god for that and now the residents of Kearny can breathe without smell but one thing the public needs know is this Mayor Santos allowed this landfill to open in the first place which resulted in the need to pay legal fees in this fight which could have been avoided had he not allowed this to open in the first place. I would love to see the final legal bill for all the litigation the town went threw and what that money could have been used to better recreation, public works, beautification, Police and Fire equipment etc. Just remember this the next time this Mayor makes a decision that in the end has cost taxpayers a lot of tax money in legal fees.
