Comments and opinions critical of the Kearny and Harrison Fire Depts. appear to be kept off the forum. Legitimate inquiries as to what the response time of the KFD was to the former ************ ******* *** haven't been published after numerous requests. Is there something to hide? Refusing to provide facts such as response times to calls for service by the KFD and HFD foster negative suspicion. Issues such as non-productive Firefighters sleeping at the Frat Houses for up to $50/ hour of taxpayer money and 24 hour shifts which benefit ONLY the $100,000+/ year heroes (lol!) need justification. The more critical issue as to the difference in response times of awake & prepared FF as opposed to unconscious, undressed, unprepared delayed response FF require scrutiny. The absolute proliferation of WHITE MALES in these high paying 25 year vacation jobs demonstrate (IMO) gender and racial discrimination. IMO, biased hiring practices crushing the hopes of qualified female, African American, Asian American, Indian Americans and other minority candidates warrant investigation and policy change to reflect the towns populations. Things need to change!!
