What would be the motivation to promote wind and solar energy, except out of concern for the future of our children and grandchildren, and everyone after them? It's easy to see the motivations of the oil companies. They don't want their profits to dry up. You're making these claims about people who don't agree with you, but there's no motive for anyone to do what you're claiming. And at the very least, you might acknowledge the fact that the latest cold snap in this region of the US does not change the fact that worldwide temperatures measured for the whole year continue to rise. Here is a fact: record snowfall does not mean record cold. We are not having record cold. 2Stupid4Words just made that up. We are having a lot of snow, in the US Northeast. That does not mean that they're having an unusual amount of snow worldwide. On the contrary, we are having large amounts of precipitation in this region of one country, which happens when temperature and other weather conditions put a lot of moisture into the atmosphere (think heat), and it falls back to Earth. This is a sign of climate change, not evidence against it. Here is a fact: Scientists say that our large snowfalls here in the Northeast could be a result of climate change, which destabilizes weather patterns, causing larger storms, worse droughts, record high temperatures and some very low temperatures. When you average it all out, the Earth is warming at an alarming rate. You can put all the quotation marks around "scientists" that you want to put, 2Stupid4Words. But at the end of the day, they are scientists and you are not. They base their comments on facts. You do not. Read the facts. Then comment, with some intelligence. There hasn't been a below-average month in temperatures since 1985. Pay particular attention to the graph. If we just had one - and the data have not been analyzed yet - that would be one month.
