"Unfettered capitalism is the new tyranny." The words are those of Pope Francis.

A statement like that, coming from the Pope of the Catholic church, is very significant.

It isn't just another phrase. It is a grave warning. The signs of it are obvious if you're paying attention. The evidence is overwhelming and unmistakable.

If you don't understand what he is saying, then you need to think about it - hard, long and fast.

Think about what tyranny is, and what happens when people live under a tyranny. It's happening. He's not kidding and he's not exaggerating.

If we don't get what this means, then we are all screwed. Every single one of us.

This is why people like 2Stupid4Words matter. They matter a lot. The owners and operators of the right wing propaganda machine can spin any story to work in their favor. If a rancher has been grazing his cattle on federal land for decades, and not paying his fees, they can paint the government as dictatorial for trying to collect on the fees he owes to us. We the taxpayers are subsidizing his operation. He's a freeloader. But because he's a white rancher in a red state, they can spin this as a story of government overreach. Meanwhile, the Occupy Wall Street people - that story is spun as spoiled rich kids. Why the difference? Because OWS was challenging the power of the corporations. Mr. Rancher wasn't. So he became a prop for their propaganda. Hannity made him a hero, and millions of idiots like 2Stupid4Words bought it reflexively - without thinking - because the story was told as an example of government gone off the rails.

The reason the corporations are succeeding in taking over our country and the world is that idiots like 2Stupid4Words are helping them do it. They are voting for their candidates, who appoint right wing justices to the U.S. Supreme Court, and the next thing you know, the corporations and hedge fund managers can spend any amount of money they want to influence our elections. Money is now speech, classic Orwellian doublespeak, exactly what Orwell warned us about.

The proof that money does matter in politics is 2Stupid4Words himself. You know he's getting his "information" from Fox just from seeing what he posts here. And it's the most popular network on TV. These idiots have no idea what they're watching. All the propaganda masters have to do is spin the story to play on one of their biases - anti-government, anti-other (black, Hispanic, feminist etc.) - and they buy it. The facts don't matter to them. It's all about the story, which they call the "bigger picture." They don't even realize, and they don't care, that their "bigger picture" is inconsistent with the facts. So they are easy tools for people with vast sums of money and access to a TV network and radio talk shows, who play them like puppets. And, as they remind us, they vote. So instead of getting candidates who would work for the public good, we get candidates who will do whatever the biggest players tell them to do. We no longer have a democracy. We have an oligarchy of power, and idiots like 2Stupid4Words are leading the charge to help them do it.

That's one of the most misguided, misinformed, illogical and nonsensical statements I've ever read. What I gather from your words is you're an

under-educated, under-employed, under-achiever who's angry with his lot in life and resents all those who are brighter, happier and more successful.

That's my psy.101 diagnosis. I nailed you, right?

You're an idiot. You said absolutely nothing about the subject and only tried to insult the person who opened the topic. And you don't even have the brains to quote once. That's not a guess. It's right here for everyone to see.

Try again. What do you disagree with, and why?

This and climate change are the two most important issues of our time. If we do not make major changes in both these areas, then our kids effectively have no future.

Where is the outrage?

I've used up all my outrage on the socialist, lying fraud that is destroying America.

Yes, you have, along with many other people, which is one reason why we're not addressing the real issues. Addressing climate change and the existing corporate model would threaten the corporate bottom line today in the interests of us all long-term. They've spun you the usual story, and like a good sheep you've bleated and done what they wanted you to do. They're very good and propaganda and unfortunately for the rest of us, you don't have the openness or the intelligence to see what they're doing.

So, you're still buying the old song and dance about how everything would be fine if the government just got out of the way. Have you noticed what has been happening all over the world, especially in highly developed countries like the United States? Look at how Google, Facebook and Amazon have cornered markets and are swallowing up old companies. Take a look a mergers and acquisitions over the past few decades. Look at the oil and gas companies lobbying for favorable treatment, and for taxes (!) but only on companies trying to get into solar energy.

You'd like to sing the song and dance that the shrinking middle class is all Obama's fault. Only this has been going on for decades, and the only thing government has to do with it, is that government cannot act on behalf of the people when the corporations have effectively bought it.

Your other song and dance is that if it wasn't for government, we would have more freedom. Only we wouldn't. All that would do is give the corporations the power to do anything they like. We would be like bugs under their thumbs. That is what Pope Francis means by unfettered capitalism being the new tyranny. Or maybe you think he's a socialist, too?

You come from a far-right perspective that would only hand more control over to the people who have too much. The solution is for people to understand that that approach will not work, and that we need government policies that work for the people. The only way we can get that is if people stop buying the song and dance you're buying.

And you ain't much of a singer or dancer, either.

I think the answer is to change our form of government to a monarchy. We can then make zerO the king and he can rule by royal edict. We'll turn all our money over to the king and he will give us what he thinks we need. We won't need to be concerned with things like inititive, self-reliance, incentive or drive, they only get in the way. Life will be much simpler and easier under king zerO.

So this time Not-a-Patriot's fantasy take the form of sarcasm, but it's still the same old fantasy tale spun out on right wing TV and talk radio. All the ways we no longer have control of our lives are all Obama's fault. Never mind the industrial revolution, the development of advanced communications and digital technologies, high-speed banking, finance and stock trading. Never mind the advance of medical technologies from the ancient (mal)practice of bleeding to organ transplants and laser surgeries. Never mind that all these things create and demand a system of complex and interdependent parts to function properly, and are not geared on their own toward a thriving middle class or broadly shared prosperity. These things, taken together, are the reason we need a more active government than the Framers did.

I could go on but there's no reason to. Anyone with the intelligence and openness already gets the point. Not-a-patriot, a/k/a 2Stupid4Words, a/k/a Kearny Hypocrite, doesn't want to get it. He prefers his right wing fantasy. What he doesn't see, apparently, is that he is doing real harm to the country he claims to love, and to the world.

This isn't a joke, you idiot. The corporations are taking over the world, and all you care about is that your candidate lost the last two elections. Grow up. And if you're going to reply to something, try to say something intelligent

No, it's the truth. He has made things better but he can't fix everything single-handedly, especially with the Republicans opposing everything he tries to do. The idea that Obama was supposed to fix everything is just another one of your fantasies. So much for any hope of you saying anything intelligent.

Meanwhile, our most pressing problems aren't going to go away just because you choose to ignore them and make snot-nosed remarks. How are we going to address the problems of globalization and climate change, and get a handle on all the changes brought about by advancing technologies?

Here's an FYI for you. Climate change / Global warming is nonsense. It is nothing more than a fabrication of zerO to promote his environmental agenda.

It's the same agenda that's stopping the Keystone Pipeline from going forward. It's hard to believe that you're so naive about the serial liar that's dragging

this nation into a depression.

OK, got it. You're Kearny's version of Stephen Colbert.

Meanwhile, a new report just came out. Those who are interested in the facts can check it out. If you only want the highlights, open this link.
