Guest R u kidding us
You can't be serious Mr. Esteves. You were a NO show for meet the candidates. By the way we already have four puppets on the board, we don't need a fifth one.
Guest That was a cheap shot
The Meet the Candidates forum is not a requirement to run for Board of Education. It is an event attended by the same small interest groups every year, most of whom have already made up their minds before any of the candidates say anything. Esteves opted to meet undecided residents and ask for their support. He got twice the votes of incumbent Castelli and prior board member Cambell, both of whom went to Meet the Candidates. Guest Not a cheap shot
There is no cheap shot in politics. Here the truth. Town Hall needs a inside connection to the BOE. Esteves is that person. His votes are results of Uncle Alberto. What is his platform besides wanting change. School taxes have not gone up in two years. Uncle Al has raised taxes every year. Danny, will you do the same IF you become a member of BOE.
Guest Quest
How is that a cheap shot. The only reason He ran was to give his Uncle( Mayor Santos) another puppet.
Guest Guest
Folks, the election is over. The votes have been counted. Esteves finished fourth. Period. If one of the top three candidates cannot serve, then Esteves should be next in line, given that this was a ten-person race.

Over 1000 votes taken by illegal candidate!
Guest Really?
There is no cheap shot in politics. Here the truth. Town Hall needs a inside connection to the BOE. Esteves is that person. Danny, will you do the same IF you become a member of BOE. If Esteves' votes are a result of Mayor Santos, then Santos pummeled Castelli and Campbell on Election Day. As to taxes, you didn't read his literature. He attacked mispending at the same time that test scores are falling fast.
Guest Guest
"How is that a cheap shot. The only reason He ran was to give his Uncle( Mayor Santos) another puppet." What is your basis for that claim? If you don't have one, firmly based in demonstrable fact, then it is a cheap shot, both at Esteves and at Mayor Santos. Guest Guest
How is that a cheap shot. The only reason He ran was to give his Uncle( Mayor Santos) another puppet. It's a cheap shot for several reasons: 1. You're making a claim, unsubstantiated by any facts, about another person's motives, which you're unlikely to be in a position to know. The presumption in civilized society is to take others at their word unless they give us substantial reason not to do that. When you violate that basic rule of civilized society, you undermine its foundations. More to the point, an unsubstantiated personal attack is unfair to the party being attacked. That's what makes it cheap: anyone can do it without any basis in fact. 2. You're making a similar allegation against Mayor Santos, and it is equally unfounded. 3. Finally, you are making essentially the same allegation against current members of the BOE, whom you call "puppets," again without any basis in fact. By contrast, if I were to call you an unfair, biased, excessively opinionated and mean-spirited person, that would not be a cheap shot because in the little you've written, you have provided ample basis for anyone to call you that. You've revealed that you side vigorously with a particular faction on the Board, which is your prerogative, but then you characterize the people on the other side as puppets or masters, without any basis in fact. Then you claim not to know what is wrong with that. So if I were to go a step further and call you stupid, that would overlook only one other possibility: the possibility that you know how scurrilous your comment was but you posted it anyway. In that case, you would properly be called a scumbag. It's not a nice thing to say but it is based in fact: your own words. See the difference? It would be a disgrace if the choice of the voters was discarded for a second time. Esteves is the logical choice to be seated now that the board majority seems to have been successful in getting rid of Lowry. Would they really dare to bypass the candidate with the next highest number of votes? Why bother to have elections at all if you can whine loud enough and keep eliminating people until you get who you want? It should not be a question at all. Enough is enough.
