Guest Guest
How is the Town of Harrison bragging about offering an alcohol and drug education program after being one of the few municipalities in the country to refuse to drug test it's fire department to avoid possible widespread embarrassment. This wouldn't be the case if even one fireman in their union stepped-up like the men they aren't and didn't make themselves a cowardly disgrace. They have in a way plead no contest to drug testing and it's wrong for the town to try and educate others about the perils of drug abuse when it will not confront it's own issues. The police are the only men who came forward and asked for drug testing to prove their integrity to the people. Clean your own house first before faking concern for others. What a disgrace this town and it's Fire Dept. are. That is my opinion. ALL TOWN EMPLOYEES should be randomly hair follicle drug tested to throw out the garbage. Maybe then the town could actually create a job application for positions instead of appointees who are not drug tested. The dirty little secret isn't much of a secret, it's more of an admission of, " where's there's smoke, there's fire!!"
Guest Guest
Why are the Harrison Firemen exempt from drug testing? 1 1/2 years and still no answer. Alfred plea a possibility?
Guest Fear & Intimitation
The Police random drug policy was put in place after the Chief recommended it in 2000.To their credit both the PBA and FOP backed this policy which was made part of the rules and regulations. The Fire Dept. has fought against random drug testing despite several of their members caught using drugs.
Guest Harry. J.
I think it should be done on a monthly basis for ALL town employees. Hey if you want to make the money, then you should be able to earn the money responsibly And at the same time represent the town of Harrison the right way. Guest guest
....and the drug use continues. The problem is that the State of NJ automatically gives any fireman arrested or caught on drugs an automatic 40% pension for life. They call it a "stress pension?" I didn't realize not doing drugs caused so much stress. Too much money and too much time on their hands. Look for the drug dealer from 2nd St. at the Firehouse, he delivers. Those are opinions, not facts. (wink, wink)
