Mayor Al Santos suggested that current contract negotiations between the union and the town should focus on the department's salary structure, which enables a new firefighter hired for approximately $30,000 to attain a salary of $98,000 in seven years.THIS IS JUST SALARY.Add in healthcare and what is the true number?

Way too expensive in this financial environment. With unemployment in town north of 10%,something has to give.As we all know, the unions feel as if it's their right to demand these type of salaries.

You can only squeeze so much juice out of a lemon ! We have been getting squeezed for years !
