In one month zerO added more than a quarter trillion to the national debt. Even while swigging Kool-Aid, the Loonies at some point have to wake up and say zerO is out of control and needs to be booted out of office before we go bankrupt. Here's a few things you won't hear from townhall.com: Social Security has risen by 180 billion since FY 2007, Obama brought the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan into the budget (Bush paid for them with discretionary spending votes, which kept the spending out of scrutiny and cost taxpayers billions as money simply disappeared), and unsurprisingly Health and Human Services has skyrocketed. Not that you can blame Obama for that-the vast majority of the increase has gone to the over-65 group as the baby boom generation officially turned 65 in 2011. Meanwhile, receipts have declined by ~18% due to the Bush tax cuts. So where exactly is Obama at fault here? Shall we just throw seniors under the bus? Without the insane spin from TownHall.com and 2costy, this story is still disappointing. However, it doesn't lead me to believe PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA is solely responsible or even 1/3 responsible for this mess. Remember when the House decided to stop working with him...before he even took office? I guess the wars are somewhat Bush's fault, but I can't really blame Bush for us still being in Afghanistan. The biggest increase is Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Which is due largely to people aging, so neither party's fault. Bush's tax cuts are the biggest culprit-in FY 2009 (which Bush set the budget for because that's how it works) the deficit grew 1.4 trillion dollars. It was a trillion dollar jump from the year before because while spending didn't increase that much revenues fell due to the 2008 tax cut. I would also like to point out that since then the dificits have actually fallen somewhat, and Obama is one of only two presidents in decades to actually decrease the government's payroll-the other being Clinton. I am concerned with the debt but spending hasn't dramatically increased other than the Baby Boomer retirement increase that's been expected for decades. What has fallen is revenue and yeah, that is on Bush. That's why Fox and Townhall keep harping on deficit spending-because it distracts people from the fact that spending hasn't increased at nearly the rate it did under Bush. Here's a chance to show you aren't the complete imbecile we all think you are-find me a significant source of current spending that can be blamed on Obama. You referred to last month? Prove it. Are you really so stupid as to think that every economic problem can be fixed in a year or two or three, or even ten? Some problems take decades to fix, like our dependence on oil. Just because people want instant solutions doesn't mean that such are attainable. Other things, like a properly regulated banking and finance system, could be fixed quickly if the President had a cooperative Congress; but he doesn't. So yes, Bush and the Republicans are still getting blamed because they caused major, long-term economic problems that President Obama has been trying to fix. In the 3+ years of the zerO administration, the debt went from 10.7 trillion to what it is now, 16.3 trillion, an increase of 5.6 trillion, or an average of 1.8 trillion per year. That's more than 3 times Bush's spending level. At zerO's current spending rate, if America has the misfortune of re-electing him, the national debt will be over 24 trillion and bankruptcy will be unavoidable. As a patriot, I pray the american voter recognizes the danger of voting for this socialist that's determined to change our free republic into an eastern european style nanny state like Greece and France. You won't answer that either. The stimulus worked. We avoided the collapse of the automotive and other industries. Without the stimulus, the unemployment rate could easily have gone to 15 percent, or higher. Try to imagine this country if the auto makers had collapsed. The right wing media are propagandizing you and promoting oil company politics. They are opposing all green technologies, which might threaten big oil's stranglehold on all of us. Think about it for once. Big oil needs us to be dependent on oil. If green technologies are developed, they'll lose their power, influence and ability to keep making vast sums of money AT OUR EXPENSE. This isn't rocket science but somehow - don't ask me how - people are actually stupid enough to fall for the propaganda the oil companies are feeding them, and voting for politicians who help big oil keep picking our pockets. Then they get angry when gas goes up to $4 a gallon. Well, of course the prices are going to go up. Oil doesn't have enough competitors. We're spending trillions of dollars on oil but if one investment in green technologies goes bad, people howl that their pockets are being picked. How freaking stupid can you be? Seriously.
