Guest Kearny Senior
I've been reading all the comments about what a wonderful job Obama's been doing. And while I can understand dems wanting to "color" the truth to favor the president, some of the spin borders on the ridiculous. Here are some "no spin " facts about the Obama administration. Unemployment is still 8.3 % dispite hundreds of billions in stimulus. In 3 years Obama has added 5.2 trillion to the national debt, almost double what Bush added in 8 years. Obama's "green" inititive has been a disaster, hundreds of billions poured down the drain on "pie in the sky industries" (GM announced today they were stopping production of the volt). Gas prices are the highest in history at this time of year with no end in sight. Obama refuses to approve the Keystone pipeline and open up drilling in the west and offshore which would relieve our dependency on arab oil. During the campaign, Obama made many (many) promises (we all know what they were), Incredibly he has fulfilled none of them. 12 million people are unemployed .ObamaCare is now estimated to cost 1.1 billion more than projected and is not expected to survive. And yes, the Seals got bin Laden after the military discovered his hideout. It's time to stop the spin and admit his failures and agree he must be defeated in Nov. Our country depends on it. The facts are that President Obama inherited the worst disaster since the Great Depression and has done a good job managing it, despite concerted efforts by Republicans to ensure that he failed. Well, he hasn't failed. The economy is on the rebound and despite having to incur more debt, unemployment topped out at 10%, which is far lower than it would have been without the stimulus, especially the loans to the auto makers. The USA was on the road to financial stability in 2000 but Bush undid all the progress Clinton made toward reducing the national debt. Republicans claim they want balanced budgets but they don't walk their big talk. Green technologies are not pie-in-the-sky; they are the future, not more depletion of oil reserves, which will inevitably run out. To say that President Obama hasn't fulfilled any of his campaign promises is complete nonsense. He got health care legislation passed, which was something presidents have been trying to do for a century. He navigated through extraordinarily difficult times. He restored American standing in the world and as much as Republicans may be unwilling to admit it has done an excellent job on national security. Our country depends on our turning away from the mindless shift to the radical right. We need investments in infrastructure and in new technologies, especially in energy. We need an intelligent regulatory system. We need an end to the class warfare perpetrated by the rich against the rest of us over the past 30 years. No Republican running for the presidency will give us what we need. President Obama has done a good job and merits re-election.

I guess that doesn't include the $1.82 price for gas when Bush left office. I

Guest Gadfly
Inherited the worst disaster.... ?? I guess that doesn't include the $1.82 price for gas when Bush left office. I http://zfacts.com/p/35.html See that dip? That would be from Bush's economic collapse. So you are blaming Obama for our economy recovering enough for gas prices to resume the same trajectory they've been on for years.
Guest Guest
Inherited the worst disaster.... ?? I guess that doesn't include the $1.82 price for gas when Bush left office. A comment like that only shows that you're not interested in the truth. Gas prices plummeted sharply at the end of Bush's term. That's not a stable market. Meanwhile, the economy was in its worst condition since the Great Depression.
