Guest Town of Harrison Employee
Disabled veteran from Iraq would like to know how to apply for the Gardens. Is it available to only low income? Do you have to have kids to get in? Thanks In order to get in (The Gardens) Harrison Housing Authority, first you need to fill out a application. Come by the office between the hours of 8:30am to 3:00pm Mon-Friday to get your application. Also you need to resign in Harrison first... Keep in mind when your done your application it will take a couple of years to get in here cause there a waiting list you have to wait, depending on how many rooms you want. " first "town of harrison employee" the office is open till 4:00, and i think u meant reside in harrison, not resign. LOL, Third the wait all depends on who ya know, someone connected got in just to have a place while there "real" apartment was renovated. Fourth its not low income or emergency, cause there are people living there retired collecting a nice pension.
Guest Fellow veteran
Disabled veteran from Iraq would like to know how to apply for the Gardens. Is it available to only low income? Do you have to have kids to get in? Thanks Ironic isn't it. The gardens were built with VA money for returning WWII vets. Now they're occupied by welfare and disabilty scammers that have been there for so long they think they own their apartments and have their adult kids living with them. EVERYONE should equal opportunity to live there during tough times. Many of them have enough money for vacations, lotteries Atlantic City, etc. If you have the money for that get your lazy ass out and pay for an apartment. Also if you live on welfare and in one of the public housing units, we should fire the crossing guards and put you people out there to earn your welfare, utilities. Sweeping streets, answering phones, and many other town jobs that can be filled for free by these freeloaders. I fully understand some are not physically capable but many are. Our grandparents would have sold pencils or apples on a street rather than accept welfare, but then again they had pride and self respect. It's "their" not there apartment if you want to correct the employee comment, Harrison idiots correcting each other.... priceless. To the original poster as a disabled OEF Vet I wish you the best. Please check with the VA at Lyons they may have some housing for you. Stay away from East Orange it is a dump. Best of luck!!!

There alredy are many senior citizens waiting to get into the one-bedroom apartments. Take care of them first; those others are 'already' in the Gdns.
