While zerO is basking in the success of the Navy Seals, our economy is getting worse. Unemployment is back over 9%, gas is over $4. a gal., our debt just passed the 14.3 trillion mark, 35% of all house sales are foreclosures. What's zero's solution? He want to increase the debt limit by 2 trillion!!! Even the moderate dems are deserting this clown. Is there anyone on this board beside me that recognizes the impending disaster this community organizer is trying to shove down our throats??

The facts are that the economy is in recovery. Continued economic growth will increase the likelihood of President Obama's re-election. The jobs report last Friday was the latest indication of the turnaround?

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The jobs recovery picked up speed in April, as business payrolls swelled and the unemployment rate rose as more people returned to the workforce.

The economy added 244,000 jobs in the month, the Labor Department reported Friday. That's up from the 221,000 jobs gained in March. Economists surveyed by CNNMoney were expecting a slight slowdown to a gain of just 185,000 jobs.

Job growth has been strong since the beginning of the year, with 768,000 jobs added since January. And Friday's report also showed that 46,000 more jobs were added in February and March than previously thought.

The unemployment rate edged up to 9.0%, ending a streak of four straight months of declines. Economists had forecast it would remain unchanged at 8.8%. The rate often increases as the job market improves and previously discouraged workers return to labor force. An additional 113,000 people who were not previously counted among the unemployed, reentered the labor force in April.

"It's ironic, but a rising unemployment rate in this situation is not a bad thing," said Tig Gilliam, president of the North American unit of job placement firm Adecco.

Businesses added 268,000 jobs in April, bringing private sector hiring so far this year to 854,000. It's the strongest month for business hiring since February 2006, nearly two years before the start of the recession.

Our impending disaster is decades in the making and has virtually nothing to do with Obama; in fact, he is fighting against great odds to reverse the trends. Our impending disaster is a product of a powerful nation doing what all powerful nations have done, getting fat and lazy and assuming that we are entitled to rule the world forever without working at it; of letting the corporations take over our lives without being accountable for anything; of not investing to create a sustainable future, especially in energy; of spending our resources unnecessarily on weapons and military misadventures; of not planning for an aging population, which we knew for decades was coming; of letting our infrastructure decay and failing to build things like high-speed rail; of buying into the fantasy that an economy as complex as ours can thrive without an powerful government making and enforcing economic rules and regulations. There's more but grow up. Obama inherited these problems. You're free to act like a fool in this country, but that won't help us solve our problems.

Patriot - I personally can not wait for the opportunity to re-elect President Obama. Not only is he a smart, good & decent man but he is doing a terrific job given a very difficult set of circumstances. I don't agree with everything he has done but I think he has approached each issue in a prepared, dignified way that has finally restored honor to the office of President. Aside from all of this, the other reason I look forward to voting for him is to cancel out your vote. Have a nice day as you baste in your own bitterness.

Loony - I personally can not wait to ship zerO back to Chicago. zerO may be a good & decent man but he's a hard core socialist. Do you Loonies really want the USA to become a European style nanny state, ala France? If we don't kick zerO out we should take over the Senate, and that will be enough to tie zerO in knots. You have a nice day also as you live your Kool-Aid dreams.
