The candidates get a few screened questions that they can easily avoid answering. Make the session longer and do some real probing on serious issues facing the school system. And have the candidates ask each other questions. Have a real debate and discussion.

The reason the questions are screened is to avoid personal attacks.

Guest Guest
It is not a debate. It is an opportunity for each candidate to make a statement and answer questions. The reason the questions are screened is to avoid personal attacks. So make a statement in the beginning that personal attacks will not be permitted and have the police ready to enforce it. Or screen the questions if you think that's necessary. You've gone too far, sanitizing the event to the point that the candidates don't really have to say anything. Candidates for other political offices have to face real questions. Why should Board of Education candidates get an exception?

Guest GUEST
Went to meeting. MUNRO has NO IDEA of what he is talking about!!!!!! Please everyone,if you care about Kearny, get out and vote!!!! DO NOT elect Munro !!!!! Nice try IDIOT . MR. MUNRO was very cool, calm and collective and honest with his answers to all the questions asked by our PTA COMMITTEE. If you were a CONCERNED PARENT as you say you are, than you would see the problems the current BOARD HAS CAUSED(WASTEFUL / SPENDING-CONSTANT LIES-). A vote for MR. MUNRO IS A DEFINITE VOTE FOR OUR CHILDREN. You can be sure on APRIL 20, 2010 the people will come out and show how fed up they are with the incumbents and vote in MUNRO - KING - O" MALLEY.
