They now have the clout to get state positions and aid. Under Corzine, Hudson and Essex got the most goodies. Harrison, which is on state welfare, has the most to lose. If I owned a home in Harrison, I would sell as fast as I could and get out while there's still time. The aid is going to disappear and taxes will skyrocket. The Police Dept. will continue to have a shortage of manpower and the Fire Dept. will no longer be able to justify their existence. I am so glad that I left Harrison. Clam Digger, You might be right if Christie turns out to be the typical politician. Let's hope he's not! Clam Diggers were people who lived off the beaches and ocean. They dug clams and fished. They were a hard working proud breed. Todays so called Clam Digger drives north every morning to work. The Clam Digger then drives south after work. mows the lawn and goes to bed. The modern Clam Digger left the cities because of the draw of low taxes low crime and low house prices. They will find that they have brought those problems with them. Check the rising crime stats of these areas. The old Clam Diggers hate the new breed "Yuppie Clam Digger." Without the cities there would not be a Yuppie Clam Digger. After the storm of the past week many Yuppie Clam Diggers will be crying about the lack of beach sand due to the storm. They will be worried that there is not enough sand to hold all the stupid Bennies. How can they overcharge the Bennies for lodging, food and entertainment if there are no beaches ? This week the Yuppie Clam Diggers will be begging for aid to rebuild what they believe are THEIR beaches. I say" Let God put the sand where he wants." We can save the cost of replenshing the beaches by building more pools in the cities and providing casino gambling at the meadowlands for the Bennies. these things along with the sports venues in North Jersey would also be good for the enviroment. When the Bennies stop droping their money at the over priced shore. The Yuppie Bennies can resort tobeing Clam Diggers. Then and only then can they proudly claim to be Clam Diggers. I hope that there are some real Clam Diggers left to show them how to survive. Whats left to do. Oh yeah open a couple of cheese steak stands. Personally, I prefer bifada.
