Mayor & Council, please stop your hate filled demolition of the PD. You are putting all of us in danger and with the taxes I paid this year you think you would give each resident their own officer, firefighter and EMT......

Let's knock this shit off and start protecting the residents from these gangbangers..

Why is there still not a Police Report from Harrison in the Observer?

Very simple. They {the political machine} do not want the people to see what is going on in town.

This makes it look like they are doing a great job running Harrison and It also makes people think that the police department is not overworked and undermaned.

I'm sure Mr. Murray is well protected wherever he lives.

This is the old Frank Rodgers system of running things. They feel it worked for him so it will work for them. So far they are right. Any officer who says different is labled a malcontent.

As witnessed here it also serves to turn PD against FD. While this going on the machine is busy grabbing all they can.

Maybe what happened to the Police Officers in Jersey City will give the citizens of Harrison a good idea of whats really out there. I know that was an extreme and unusual circumstance, but the town is experiencing more and more violent and worse crimes but they are just not reported to the newspapers. Do you really feel safe when between the hours of midnight and 8:00 AM that at most times there are only three cops on duty to protect the whole town while ten fireman are sleeping in the firehouse and they don't come out. You pay enough taxes to have adequate police protection but are being deprived of police protection due to the constant hiring of secreataries ($119,000.00/year), fireman ($100,000.00/year), and more cronyism and nepotism that you can shake a stick at. Powells secret job, FEMA coordinator Dollarhan, the DCA guy, ............). Enough. You pay a lot in taxes and instead of even minimum Police protection you get less. Demand your monies worth. One domestic violence instance takes two cops about an hour with just the paperwork. That leaves one single officer providing polce service to the entire town. Feel Safe? I don't!!!! The cops do not even have access to better firepower to help, if ever necessary, in a shootout. The more usefull weapons are stored under lock and key like a safe deposit box with two people that live miles away with the key. If someone is kicking your door in at 3 A.M. good luck because by the time Kearny or Newark PD get there its gonna be too late.

Wait until the cameras are installed by our "security specialist" *****. Since he's been in the DB he hasn't solved 1 case. What good are the cameras if there is no one to respond? Who's going to be watching them? Whatever happend to Harrison's SWAT Team? Who you gonna call if there is an incident like what happened In Jersey City?

I take the wise ass threats from the Clubhouse gang/fireman for what they are, empty words. The fireman once again show that they have nothing but contempt for the taxpayers providing them with $100,000.00/year salaries, health benefits, and a pension for their white mans/one black mans welfare. They cannot relate to people that have a real job because they don't really work. They sleep, eat, and threaten the citizens with violence if disturbed. The taxpayers of Harrison are paying enormous tax bills and are entitled to basic safety in the form of police protection but the Mayor and Council look first to take care of friends and relatives and most do not live in Harrison. This isn't a police/fire issue, its an issue of safety for the community. Three or four cops to patrol the town including traffic posts is ludicrous. What does the town plan to do with no police available because things at the stadium are geting out of hand? The manpower level is now three cops per shift to protect the town. Those are the rules set by the Mayor and Council. The manpower level at the firehouse is 10 per shift. Feeling safer now? Speak up or the next time someone is kicking in your door at 3 A.M. or robbing you on the street with a weapon, call the Mayors and Council-persons houses for help. After that, try the fireman, secretaries, janitors, and every other person with a "secret" title to help you. Finally, maybe they can free-up a cop from a traffic post to take a report after you have been victimized or hurt. What kind of idiot thinks that 3 men can protect an entire town of people paying $8,000.00 to $10,000.00 in taxes. The citizens deserve more respect and security. Thats my opinion.

Where do you get the # of 3 officers per shift? I recently saw a response to domestic violence and there were 4 cops cars and 4 officers on the scene. So if there are 3 officers per shift, was that 4th cop just a civilian playing dress up?

Looks like the PBA are giving the Chief a pass on minimum manpower. I remember when the Chief was in charge of a patrol squad and always complained to that Chief that there wasn't enough manpower. Then he *** ****** ******* a Sgt. **** 4 hours early and ****** a **** to ********* the Sgt. **** to *** *******. They *** ****** because the patrol car **** ******* the **** ***** in ***** without ****** and a ******* was sent to the Chief **** *** ****. In those days the PBA filed numerous grievances about lack of manpower and overtime.

Now, they are all in the ** and keeping their mouths shut. The ********* ************ has a soft touch job and is not going to make waves about manpower. The cameras don't catch crooks, cops do.

So, the Mayor and Chief are trying to make an excuse for lack of manpower by planning to put cameras on Harrison Ave

All this shortage of cops is all Bullcrap! It's obvious that a Patrolman who is dying to get promoted is using this as an excuse to get a promotion. More Police will mean more Supervsiors. (only wants promoted for the extra money and to get out of doing the everyday job of a Patrolman) As far as the crap about trouble at the new stadium? The Police make it sound like 25,000 people will be all fighting at same time, RIDICULOUS! The Police have been jackasses for a long time and never seem to know how to make themselves look good in the public eye. It is so obvious that the cop who is posting has his own personal agenda for promotion. The Police should concentrate on earning an honest days pay and remember how they got started in the first place. They all never change except after they kiss butt to get the job. Everyone of them has had to beg the Mayor for their job, then once on for awhile they become subversive and turn on the ones who helped them get the job in the first place. Hey Officer! Go out and hustle for the betterment of the town and you will get noticed and get promoted with some class. Don't keep writing these disasterous scenarios and trying to scare people for your own personal gain!! All you will be is a Patrolman for life!

Barney, there you go again. Maybe if you didn't call out sick so much there would be more cops on the street. That's everyone's opinion.

You are truly amazing. You can give the opinion for everyone in town. I guess the HFD has hired an Opinion Coordinator relative for $119,000.00/year to analyze this and do studies and polls. Thats status quo. Unfortunately, each person does have their own opinion and I agree with the post that with paying $8 to $10 thousand a year the town should be crawling with cops, but as usual, where is all the money going? Health dept., Fire dept., Street dept., secret jobs, etc.....reap what you sow says those in the know. Why the heck does the HFD need a secretary? What the heck does she do all day except schedule the *** Chiefs ****** ***** and ** ** **** most of the time during working hours anyway. Another humiliation for the town.

Ever since the PD caught on to Tanskis stealing and closed that pipeline McMole has had even more of a personal vendetta for the Police Dept. The PD however was the ones who reported him to the Prosecutors office. Thats my oinion. If thats OK with the Opinion coordinator.
