Guest guest
Some of the parents in Harrison have lost complete control of their children. The children are running the households. They ruin what is going on in the classroom. That is not the majority. The majority are trying to do a good job raising their children but they are completely unaware of what goes on in the schools. It’s obvious if you look at how few show an interest in the PTA or show up at the board of education meetings. The parents are in the dark and that is the way the administrators and board of education want it. Either the parents need to become informed or with declining test scores the state will eventually take action.
Guest Guest
THey are also running the streets at all hours of the night..... I guess the channel 9 saying"DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR KIDS ARE?" does not apply to alot of the teens running around.... TOO bad the town does not have a curfew because the police station would be filled every nite..... wake up harrisonians and call the police on these little troublemakers.... I have had children in the school system for years and have never heard of a public Board of Education meeting. Is there such a thing? Most parents would be afraid to go as their presence would be seen as threatening the power structure and it would be taken out on their children. You would think that the parents would be notified as to when these meetings took place, but they(BOE) do not want anyone to attend these meetings. THIS IS WHY WE SHOULD HAVE A AN ELECTED BOARD OF EDUCATION, there will be a petition out soon so that Harrison can have a choice.
