Guest parent
Hello, I am the mother of an eighth grade student. A few days ago my son came home from school with the Book of Studies book for the high School Orientation. As I read through it ,I noticed there where so many spelling errrors in it. I was shocked knowing that this is the start of High School, which is supposed to be the higher education Kearny has to offer.I am very curious to know ,does anyone proof read this book befor they spend I am sure a lot of TAX money on the first peice of representation from the High School ?I am suprised that the Principal didn't read it being that this reflects on him and where his priorities are. Guest random
I think it is wonderful that you actually look at the "program of studies" as too few parents do take that time. It would be great if you could bring your "revised" copy to the Counseling office so that the staff can see these mistakes. I can't see how it would help to post on KOTW about the mistakes instead of doing the aforementioned....unless that is because you really didn't want to bring this information to light for an helpful purpose you simply wanted to highlight errors and try to make people doubt the intelligence and integrity of Kearny High School. BTW I think that the new program of studies (with errors put aside) looks 100 times better than the old version which has been around for atleast 20 years. Kudos to the Couseling Dept. for stepping things up and taking the high school in the right direction.

You have to laugh when someone complains about spelling errors and their complaint has spelling errors!

I suppose so, but it doesn't make the complaint any less valid.

Guest Guest Who?
I suppose so, but it doesn't make the complaint any less valid. That's your opinion. In my opinion it does. If you are asking for perfection you better be perfect yourself.
Guest Observator
That's your opinion. In my opinion it does. If you are asking for perfection you better be perfect yourself. That would be true if all else were equal but is that what we have here?: Did educators prepare the book of studies? Were the authors paid to prepare the book as part of their jobs? If both or either of the answers to these two questions is yes, then it's very, very embarassing.
