Guest Truth Squad
No one like being looked down upon. No one likes being called ignorant. No one likes being told what to do. On the other hand, the United States just escaped having a profoundly ignorant candidate only a heartbeat away from the presidency. Part of what drove her popularity was a push-back by people who resent being thought of as ignorant. The remedy for that is not to elect ignorant leaders because they're "just like us" (), but to study and learn; or at the very least to stop being so defensive about one's own ignorance. It would have been a national tragedy if we had saddled ourselves with an unqualified president to prove a point.
