WilliamK
She broke no laws... That's what the campaign's spokeswoman said, but this is what the investigator's report said: "I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110 (a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act." Guest Bitter Cop
Keith, Keith, Keith...i am SURPRISED (not at all) that you would not include any of the Myriad Articles in this..of COURSE if you had, it would Out you for being the hypocrite that you are, since YOU failed to mention that the panel ACTUALLY Determined that the firing of the Public Safety Director was COMPLETELY PROPER, and well within the scope of the Governor's powers. What they found was that they FELT (Even though Monaghan stated that neither Palin nor her Husband had ever actually demanded the Trooper's firing) that she had tried to Influence Monaghan to fire her former Brother-in-Law, and the fact that he was not fired was one, single issue out of the several that led to Monaghan's firind as Public Safety Director. What I find MOST amusing about this whole thing, is that With the brother-in-Law BEING such an unmitigated Scumbag, if Palin had NOT demanded his Firing (Even though this all occured before she was Governor) you same Whiny bitches would be demanding she wstep down for "Covering Up" his Mis-deeds. This POS Tasered a Small CHILD..amongst his other offenses, and if it had been a Kearny Cop accused of any ONE of the things that this scumbag has been Confirmed to do, You all would be Storming Town Hall at the Council meeting to see him strung up. WilliamK
Of course, the fact that the panel was all democratic Obama supporters is irrelevant. Idiot. The panel consisted of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats, the investigation was initiated by the Republican dominated state legislature, and this issue predates Palin becoming McCain's running mate. This leaves you in a poor position to call other people "idiot", or even to use the word "fact".

You're the idiot, no matter how many topics you post this on. The panel was majority Republican by 10-4 and the finding was unanimous. Amazing how idiots like "Bitter Cop" know what other people think when they can't even string together an intelligent thought in their own little pea brains. There is no reason from anything Keith has posted to think he would say anything like the above. Governors don't usually get involved in police personnel matters, especially when their impartiality is tainted by a personal conflict with that officer. The point here is that Palin was using her office to advance a personal agenda. That's relevant whether she broke any laws or not. It says that she either doesn't understand or doesn't respect the limits of her power. That's the last thing we need in the vice-presidency after Cheney. In other words, she'd be a Cheney without any knowledge of what she was doing. Damn right that matters.

Let's talk about your hypocrisy. This is not an indicment on Palin because of someone she may know much like the Obama / Ayers thing. This is about something that SHE ACTUALLY DID! This has been going on long before she was a nominee so I find it telling when a bipartisan panel with numerous republicans unnamimously found this to be the case. Who's crying now? Bitter Cop. Bitter indeed. What's the matter, did you not get a chance to bust any heads or violate and civil rights today?
Guest Keith
Of course, the fact that the panel was all democratic Obama supporters is irrelevant. Idiot. Really? Were the republicans on the BIPARTISAN PANEL that found unanimously that she abused here powers Obama supporters? Maybe your upset because the majority of Americans are waking up to the bullshit that has been republican policies and the polls are starting to show it. You have had your way for 8 years and you screwed it up. Time to give the other team chance. It's like the old saying "Republicans know how to win elections but they don't know how to run a country". I don't know, maybe you can change my mind. Why should anyone vote republican? Seriously, give me one viable reason but don't bother with the fear card, or she was a mayor or he's a maverick balloon juice because that dog won't hunt. Oh, so that's your B**ch. Obama spoke the politically incorrect truth about you idiots and you're insulted. If you had any brains, you wouldn't vote based on reasons that are trivial compared to the huge national and international problems we face. The economy is imploding and you morons are worried about Harry giving Bob a wedding ring.
Bryan
The report does not necessarily reflect the views of the committee. The report was released to the public by a unanimous vote. That isn't at all the same as accepting its conclusions, despite the poor reporting coming from some media sources. And from irresponsible posters on Internet message boards, of course. What's irresponsible is Sarah Palin lying about the report exonerating her. What's also irresponsible is pretending that the Republicans on the committee didn't agree with the finding. They dominated the committee by 10 to 4. Therefore, at least four of them must have voted in favor of the report. And of course, they're free to issue a minority report or speak out publicly against the findings.
