I applaud your efforts to put a stop to this planned heliport and urge residents to step away from their keyboards for a while and attend this meeting. As taxpayers, you should be furious that your "quality of life" is being imposed on once again. Garbage, airplane noise, the sex offenders prison - isn't it just about enough? Global warming and constitutional law are important topics, but please try to get motivated enough to challenge something that will have an immediate effect on your day-to-day life! True, it may all be a "done deal" and it is hard to fight City Hall, but apathy never created change.

True, it may all be a "done deal" and it is hard to fight City Hall, but apathy never created change. Living in the one of the busiest area's of the United States can be overwhelming. The day to day craziness of what you mentioned, garbage, Airplane Noise, it all creates a burden on everyone. There's more to worry us now than ever in our ever changing economy. Certainly, this Heliplex will bring quality of life, questionable long-term health and environmental concerns as well as air safety issues, especially, when after a long hard day of work you want to come home to 'relax" and not hear the staccato pitter patter of helicopters. Honestly, as a citizen, all of this is always in the back of our minds. If we can stop one new nuisance, then maybe we can work together to stop another. If you aren't making an effort, you can't make a difference. Since we've started the Coalition a few weeks back we've managed to reach approximately 500 + people to sign, however there are hundreds more that we need to reach, a lot more! I hope to meet everyone on Monday at the Board of Health building. All we can do is our best, and that's what we'll continue to do. Hope to see everyone Monday! Hey, even if we end up losing, we can say we went down fighting, rather than just sitting on the sidelines! I hope you and many, many others will be there with us!
