Guest Guest
God created Police Officers so Firemen could have Heroes! How come you never see fire fighters jumping to become cops, but any chance a cop gets to become a firefighter he doesnt even blink an eye to make the switch? Keep making yourself feel better with those played out sayings.
Guest Guest
I for one never had any expectations about being a firemen. Firemen are not needed full time in Kearny and you know it. I'm sure you'll come on here and write 100 reasons to justify yourself but to most it's just a played out saying. Your job is very similiar to the oldest job in the world. You get paid for lying on your back. LOL. Glorified janitors, thats were you do most of your work anyway in the firehouse.

Keep making yourself feel better with those played out sayings. And WHEN exactly was the last time a Kearny Cop jumped to become a Fireman???? In the last TWENTY years there has been only One, and he was a cop only because that's who hired him first..as soon as the KFD job came in he jumped ship out of the Police Academy.. One in twenty years is hardly a ringing endorsement. What i find Incredibly sad though is that there are people who still buy into this PD/FD rivalry nonsense... Hopefully as stated earlier it's a minority in both departments that feel this way.

Lets see the cops are the first on scene and 99% of the time have safely evacuated the residence prior to the ff's arrival. Surround and drown is the ff's motto! Go save another foundation. Without turnout gear or breathing apparatus they certainly didn't go any further than that. And BTW..... where were the police cars while they were "safely evacuating" the residents, blocking the street in front of the fire building where they don't belong ?? Wow...sounds like someone jealous that they couldnt get hired as a cop..So "Senior" Where did you fail?? The Entrance Exam, Background Check, or Drug Test??? Ans since you seem to know so much, How many fires in Kearny have you been to that you've seen the PD doing nothing but "Shout through the door"??? You're just another loudmouthed jerk trying to make an issue where none exists.

Guest Guest
Show me the money! I have a feeling half of the poeple posting this junk on here arent either fire fighters or cops. The rivalry is retarted, both jobs are needed and are totally two different animals from each other. At the end of the day all fire fighters and cops want to do is be able to go home to thier families safely because we all know anything can happen at anytime. Cops and Fire Fighters are killed more often than people think and its a damn shame that either side thinks that one job is more important than the other. Since you think the Kearny Fire Department isn't needed, what would you do if you had the authority to eliminate the Department. You could form a volunteer company, and use mutual aid agreements with the surrounding towns right? What happens if a fire starts during the day when most people are working and the volunteers can't get an engine out. Or its late at night when most of us are asleep. Lets take your house for example. You have a small fire because you left food cooking on the stove and forgot. Now you call 911 and they alert the Dept. Except since its a volunteer co the fire fighters have to drive to the station and man the equipment. Or they go to response check and getting no response, they call for Harrison to come to your house. By that time probably 15 minutes have gone by and what was a small containable fire has spread to the rest of the house. Think it can't happen that way then think again. It happens all the time. I have a suggestion for you. Why don't you go to the Kearny Avenue Fire Department and ask to spend 24 hours with them. Also ask them to allow you to ride along with them and gear up as they would when they go out on a call. Also ask them to set up a burn room for you. It doesn't have to be an actual fire they can cover your mask. Set the scenario of a fire with rescue. You have to find the person and bring them out of the room. Lets see how well you would do. If you don't want to do that, take your clock radio and set it to go off every 15-30minutes as loud as you can get it. You don't like the fire department than fine. When you need them though thats when you'll appreciate what they do.

He's either a disgruntled cop or an under-employed fool flipping burgers for a living. Either way he doesn't deserve a response.
