okay folks!

Any predictions for Harrison in 2004???

Then we can compare notes in December!

Here is what my Crystalball is showing me:

1) The town will be dirtier.

2) There will be a councilperson resigning.

3) Four more people will get promoted/salary increases to over $100K

4) Harrison Fest will be no longer.

5) The new hotel will not be completed this year --- perhaps 2009

6) Lastly - taxes will increase.

My predictions

1. The street dept. will continue to do their job keeping Harrison Clean.

2. The Hotel will be completed.

3. Harrison Baking will move out to be replaced by senior citizen housing.

4. A Harrison Councilman will resign to marry his lover in Massachusetts.

5. Town Houses will be started on the former site of Kennedy Stadium.

6. Condos will be developed on the Hartz Mountain Property.

7. Metrostars Stadium will be started on the Guyon property.

8. Taxes will certainly go up after the State of New Jersey takes away the 4 million in aid because Town Officials have not complied with their mandates.

My predictions:

1. The Hotel that was predicticted for spring 2002 will be finished in early summer of 2004.

2. The Metro Star deal will fall through or continue to be postponed.

3. The Clark sisters will have company in their circus act at the town meetings that will upset many people.

4. The redevelopment may get hit by surprise with some last minute loop holes, which will postpone it some more (after all it's been going on since 1997 and everyone gets paid!)

5. Taxes will go up.

6. The summer will get hotter and the winter of 2004 will be an event.

7. Thing are going to fall apart, close friends will turn on each other, as sworn enemies will see that something is shared and will draw them closer together.

All in all we will get by.... and Harrison will not change much...

-over crowded schools

-steady tax increase :P

-money exchanged behind seens and jobs being handed out like candy on Holloween

Harrison will continue to experience budget problems and hope that the state continues to give financial aid. Without it, there will be a huge tax increase.

Redevelopment will initially raise taxes because buildings that are ratables will be torn down taking them off the tax books until the new develoments are built.

The Metro Stars Stadium if built will be a major boondoggle. It will create giant traffic problems and only be used sparingly. The bonds will have to be paid off and the project may go bankrupt in the future. It will be a drain on the taxpayer. A better use of the property would be high rise office buildings that have connecting stairways to the Path Trains.

Sooner or later, the extra money that the schools receive will dry up because of State Budget Problems and the Harrison Taxpayer will have to pay for the new high school and the jobs that go with it.

Higgins will collect his pension from the schools and receive a 125,000 salary as coordinator to the building of the new high school. He also receives money from the redevelopment commission. Once the well is dry and he has to live on his pension , he will move to his home at the Jersey Shore.

Anselmo Milan will run for Mayor in 2 years and may win if the above predictions come true. The Mayor will collect his pension and move to his shore home in Pt. Pleasant. The New Mayor will fire the catman in an attempt to end corruption.

White flight will continue from Harrison and it will become a 3rd. world town.

A Harrison Politician will be caught with his hands in the cookie jar and will turn state's evidence against others.

Harrison will be worse this year, but that Hotel might be finished by summer. The rest of the redevelopment will be like the Movie STUDIOS, the New HIGH SCHOOL ON HARRISON AVE,..... The taxes will continue to rise, after all the Mayor doesn't even own property in the town. He is all promises, but no results.....

Plans will be unveiled for the Public Service property on FER Blvd South. Before the Metrostars Stadium is built, a massive pyramid will be erected in honor of the Great Leader Frank Rodgers.
