I don't 'hate' anyone. That's your word and it fits the wingnut philosophy perfectly. Perhaps you can refute something I've said or discuss the subject?

There is no point in discussing anything with someone that has such clouded judgement. You hate Bush, you call him names, why not just admit it. You are the one that is in love with a philosophy at all costs.

At least I can admit that Clinton had good points. He was probably on his way to being considered among the great Presidents until it fell apart.

I never asked them to leave, but they promised.  I only want them to maintain their own integrity by keeping their word.

Seems strange to see the word integrity in a discussion about Bush when it isn't prefaced by "lack of".

They're probably claiming a loophole, they said they'd move to Canada if Bush was elected by the American people which certainly wasn't the case in 2000.

If he feels the need to add constitutional amendments we should have one to eliminate the electoral college and let the president truly be elected by the people.

(12-22-05 New York, NY)---There is an unconfirmed report this morning that Lady Liberty appeared to be crying in NY harbor. She was heard to lament "I've seen the good times when Ameica held itself to high standards, now I see a self-proclaimed 'born again' president who needs comvincing that torture, cruelty, and inhumane treatment are bad things." She went on to say "I remember a time when the president was someone you could respect and trust, now I see a man who believe's he is abpve the law. I hope Americans enjoy the clicking on their phones, they get the government they allow." Repair crews have reportedly been dispatched to check for damages caused by salty tears.

You tell 'em Samson, there's just nothing as much fun as allowing us righteous folk to ignore any law we choose in the name of a good witch hunt.

And take a tip from old Joe, make sure you check under your bed for the boogey man before you go to sleep each night.  My friend Tricky Dickie just stopped by and told me to remind you if you break in somewhere to make sure you hire reliable burglars.

Still Flying High Above the Law

Joe

But WHERE was the left's condemnation and denouncement of this policy during the TWELVE Briefings Congress had on this subject???

You mean the SECRET twelve briefings? Hard to denounce what you're not told about.

And I think many misinterpret the denouncement of Bush's actions. No one is saying the government shouldn't be allowed to eavesdrop when there is a cause. The problem is Bush's willingness to circumvent the law. There is a very simple process that would have allowed him to gain approval, he would have even been allowed to start the taps and then apply for approval so "time was of the essence" is not a valid argument. The problem in a word is his ARROGANCE.

Considering the loyalty and support Bush seems able to muster I'm starting to almost be a believer, with that in mind I'm going to explain all the questions that have been asked about him using his thought process:

9/11,9/11,9/11,9/11,9/11,9/11,9/11,9/11,9/11,9/11

Makes a lot of sense right? One Trick Pony may be a popular song but is a poor attribute for a president.

Clinton did it and so did Carter and those that leeked the info should be exposed. Which issue is more important V. Plame or national security. I really don't care who Clinton had sex with. That's a big one with his supporters. But the truth is we could have had Bin Ladin during his watch and Bubba blew it not Lowinsky. Again, this aint Nam. This issue really makes the Dems look bad and it only makes John Q

public angry. This issue will prove to serve Bush not hurt him. If the Dems have hearings they will be the ones with egg on their collective faces. What ever became of the couple that sent Newt's private phone conversation to the NY Times and they put it in print. A private conversation in print and nothing was done to these people, Nothing. The Dems and the press are so twisted with hate that they are blind to the common good. We have troops in the field and the Dems don't care. At least that's the way it looks to  John Q.

I'm not sure who John Q is but he's certainly not the majority of Americans. Last time I looked, Bush's approval numbers were still in the toilet.

Are you saying that Carter and Clinton went on TV and admitted breaking the law by spying on American citizens? That is what Bush did. Even if the NSA was involved in inadvertent domestic evesdropping, as they might have been during Carter and Clinton, find me proof that this action was DIRECTLY authorized by either... you can't. Bush just thumbs his nose at the law because his corrupt buddies in Congress will protect him from legal judgement.

There is going to be a great deal of brown stuff hitting the fan in the next few weeks and none of it is going to make Bush anymore popular than he is now. He had better pray the the Dems don't get a majority in either house in 2006. If they do, his tenure may be cut a a bit short. There is little doubt that he committed a crime here all that is left to do is impeach him.

I call lots of people names. It doesn't mean I 'hate' them. Just because I want to see Bush brought to justice doesn't mean I 'hate' him. Like I said, that's the wingnut mantra now. If someone says anything bad about their fearless leader its bourne out of 'HATRED' ... nonsense.

Oh, and don't worry, I won't think you hate me just because you think my judgement is clouded.

Again, if you have some substance, bring it to the table... but, by all means, if you want to just come here and accuse folks of 'hate' don't let me hinder you.

Waiting patiently for what the Dems stand FOR. We already know they hate Bush, you can't hide their vitriol, but when he's gone they need an issue, any issue.

I just don't understand this obsession with Clinton, NO WHERE did this post mention Clinton with respect or trust, he's a private citizen, get over it. The fact that you wouldn't trust a FORMER president has no relation to the CURRENT president thumbing his nose at the law and the country.

Hey, hindsight's 20/20, Willy should have pursued Bin Laden more aggressively and maybe he was a sleaze but that's between him and his wife. Jefferson was bangin' his slaves too, water under the bridge. Bush is in the seat that HE asked for and it's his turn to justify his actions. The frequency with which his backers are ready to jump on Clinton only points to the lack of positives to say about Bush.

I tend to believe that a federal judge that Bush appointed's resignation in protest is a pretty good indication that Bush's actions were inappropriate.

Have no fear, there are and will be LOTS of issues.

We already pay more for gas and scrap steel because we compete with China, that will only get more competitive and pricey.

As long as American foreign policy is based on "we can do it, we have bigger guns" we're plotting a course towards failure. Look at history and former superpowers, Spain, England, Rome, it ain't forever. It's probably only 4-5 generations away that China has bigger guns and then what?

There was just a vote in an attempt to reduce spending and the deficit, will they take back tax cuts given to the wealthy? No! They're going to make cuts in Medicare, Medicaid, and Education. People complain about Democratic spending yet it's the Republucans who run up the deficit. Sure it's partly the war but there's other factors. We're heading for a third world economy where 5% of the people will control 95% of the wealth and the middle class will be eliminated.

Have no fear, there are and will be LOTS of issues.

You have to catch the animals before you can take care of them. If we don't do what it takes. You won't see lady Liberty cry behind the burka she'll be required to wear.

The Democrats do not have the balls to do what is needed to defend America.

BJ. Billy fired two rockets at Bin Laden and missed. He was too slow on the trigger.

He had to ask Hillary if it was OK to do it first. He should have asked her if it was OK to sex Monica in the Whire House. He would still be admired as a good president by all.

I can't wait until the commission issues their report after the next attack on America. They will say the president at that time should have done more to prevent it. They will then say we must do whatever it takes to prevent another attack.

Grow up do gooders. Do you really think that some will see that you read a dity book or rent porn ?

Still seems to me that you're the only one with the mantra.

Willy got a BJ so George is now crowned a king and can do whatever he likes. This "my predecessor was white trash so I'm free to do as I please" defense must be something that will be discussed in law schools for many years to come.

Don't you people at least read a newspaper once in a while? Clinton hasn't been president for almost FIVE YEARS now, get with the program!

And let's be honest, if you want to play the blame game, EVERY ONE one of us who wasn't writing, calling, or somehow contacting our representatives after the first WTC attack DEMANDING action and a large scale anti-terrorist action shares the blame.

Grow up do gooders? You have a very narrow minded little view if you don't understand that it's easier to lose your rights by internal actions than from the outside. I have friends who were torn away from their lives and placed in camps during WW II, they were American citizens born here. And if you don't believe it could happen again you're probably all tingly that the guy in the red suit might bring you a pony soon.

I just went back and read the transcript of that 60 Minutes story. Nowhere in that report does it say that Clinton authorized any wiretaps by the NSA. Clinton isn't even mentioned at all. Bush specificly authorized these wiretaps without a court order. He has admitted that he violated the law. He has admitted that he violated the constitutional rights of American citizens.

Ahh ... but again ... Even if he committed murder this Congress would never think of impeachment. No President in my life time deserves it more ... not even Nixon would go on TV and essentially say ' Yeah, that's right, I violated the Constitution ... now, wat chu gonna do bout it, boy?'

His stupidity is only trumped by his arrogance.

 Bush Lovers  ;)

I know that I am about to get my ass handed to me by my Bush Loving friends, but here it is.

What is up with the spying on Americans?

What happened to our Constitutional rights?

It seems that more and more my rights as a FREE American are being stripped by the GOP!

President Bush and the Republican Congress have made great strides towards removing or freedoms as Americans.  Our taxes have been raised.  Our schools have not improved.  Our country has been made unsafe.  Bodies of Americans were allowed to rot in front of our eyes after New Orleans went under.

I can’t take it anymore and I am thinking of moving to Canada.

Ya just gotta love the guy, eh. ;)

I guess all you Bush lovers must really be thrilled and excited about his new strategy? By turning over vulnerable port operations to the Arabs he will obviously cause the terrorist groups to disband as Dubya is making it painfully obvious that he is entirely capable of bringing down the US by himslf. Maybe next he'll outsource airport security to the Al Q boys.

I was hoping that Bush would be different but that idea has gone after this move . I really don't know who we the people can trust anymore, it's plain to see after the stunts the dems pulled, they are not worthy of our trust . We the people have a real problem, who do we vote for? we have no one to choose from, think about it? It's real obvious that the out sorceing has got to stop, the boaders must be closed and the unions hold the ball in this matter big time. Right now John Q is pissed at both parties and rightfully so, because they don't listen. What say you?

How can you blame poor Bush for the port plan when he says he wasn't aware of it until he read it in the papers? I say, "George, you're the President. Shame on you if you DIDN'T know; and shame, shame on you if you DID know and didn't scream and holler to stop it."

Here's a guy who thinks it's just peachy to spy on American citizens in the privacy of their own homes, in the name of national security, but defends a scheme to allow total access to our ports (one of which is a stone's throw from Kuehne Chemical) to a country with ties to the 9/11 dive bombers. His explanation? It will send a hurtful message to our recent "ally," the UAE. Somebody should remind numb n**s that the UAE refuses to recognize the soveriegnty of our long-time ally, Isreal. His advisors should also tell him that probably 99% of the American public doesn't give a crap if the UAE gets its collective feelings hurt.
