I am absolutely disgusted to have read this. After running reservists through the wringer, the Fire Chief pretends to have a heart. If the saying is true that "the fish rots from the head on down", then the fireman are to be praised for rising above their "leadership."

Am I clueless or what does this have to do with honoring a soldier who gave his life for this country. You are a pathetic lot, if this is how Kearny people want to be perceived. Why do you all pick on each other? What is not honorable about the Fire chief respecting the life and death of an American hero? God Bless this young man's family and God forgive his smal-minded town's people.

From the posts I've seen about the fire chief, the word REMF comes to mind.

Guest Studies and Observations
Exactly what "combat zone" are the naval reserves fighting in?

The same Combat Zone as the USAF reserve, USMC Reserve, Army Reserve, and Coastguard Reserve...a little area called the "Middle East".

Yes, and all on full fireman's salary, I hope everyone is treated likewise.

You see Guest, I can deal with the bullets, and the bombs, and the blood. I don't want money, and I don't want medals. What I do want is for you to stand there in that faggoty white uniform and with your Harvard mouth extend me some f**king courtesy. You gotta ask me nicely.

Why would you say just because someone makes a living working for the government isnt a real living?????

Because once you get a a job in town you're there for life, even if you don't earn your keep. It's like living with mom and dad all over again.

I dont' really understand your argument about working for the government being like mom and dad. What is the basis for your argument. A paycheck is a paycheck who cares where the hell it comes from as long as its legal.

So, according to you there are NO naval reservists serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other combat zone???

If you want to say that it's a combat zone fine, knock yourself out. Let me know how many Naval Reservists have been wounded or killed in the "combat zone".

Because no matter what you do, no matter how much you f*** up, mom and dad (in this case good old Kearny Town) will always come to the rescue.

Why dont you ask Culinary Specialist 1st Class Regina R.Clark.

Clark, 43, of Centralia, Washington, deployed with Naval Construction Region Detachment 30, Naval Reserve, Port Hueneme, California, temporarily assigned to II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward); killed June 23 when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near her convoy vehicle in Fallujah, Iraq.

And she was the first one i found, amd i see no reason to go on.

God Bless her and all of our brothers and sisters who lost their lives for morons like you.

Oh your so bright, but I doubt that the man we're discussing was anywhere near any of the hotspots.
