Guest Sad
As residents of Harrison we have to be proud of what our high school athletes accomplished this year. Our soccer team went undefeated in the regular season and our football team put up a valiant effort doing their best for our school. Other school teams also put forth great efforts to do their best. I wish I could say the same for the adult members of the board of education, who are supposed to provide for our school children. We will never know if our soccer team would have won more games in the playoffs if they had the home team field. They worked hard to get home team advantage but unfortunately the board of education sold the home team field from under them. These boys may have been deprived of a lifelong accomplishment to satisfy some developer's greed and eagerness to start making money. What is worse, the board of education facilitated this move. Then the board says, to exonerate themselves, we were lied to by the SCC. "They said, the fields would be ready for the fall sports season." How convenient, blame a corporation. Exactly who in the corporation made this announcement? Was it an engineer, or spokesman, or some worker? Those fields are still nowhere near ready. It's not like they were a few days late because of weather. If that person who made that statement is identified, he should be fired for incompetence. Although our student athletes could hold their heads high for their accomplishments, the board members should hide their heads in shame, once again.
