Guest Mrs. Kennedy & Ms. K. DeRAY
We would like to thank the NJ DEP for supporting the flood residents. Mr. Ahmad engineer of DEP who had the solution for a community pump. And Chief of Enforcement Mr. Joe Milkulka who went out of this way to help us and told us never to give up our fight. The DEP FORCED the Mayor do do something to help us.At one public meeting we pleaded with the Mayor to write a letter he REFUSED. Only one Town person supported us with numerous letters and calls. This person is Mr. Jim Mangin who stepped up while the others sat back. Thank You Mr. Mangin for caring about the nightmare of raw sewage in our homes. Thank You for all the calls and letters supporting us. Many of us know after five years the pump is in and Mrs. Kennedy is waiting for the Mayor to connect the home. How long Mayor will you take ? How long Mayor will you take ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Mrs. Kennedy, Ms. DeRay, and Mrs. Santos could teach a Civics course in the High School. They followed every procedure and process our system of government invented to protect the public and demand action from elected officials. It's incredible that this issue continues to this day. I predict this case lands on 60 Minutes some day. And to anyone in Kearny who thinks that the plight of these unfortunate people doesn't really effect them - remember that's what the property owners in Love Canal felt also. Good luck my friends. How long Mayor will you take ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Citizens of Kearny, This is what a true leader is supposed to do. Jim Stood by his Kearny people and helped them get a real problem fixed. The State man also deserves well earned praise. With new leadership Kearny could once again take it's place as a good community to live in. What is gained by hurting our own? Whether they are military reserves, employees seeking raises or citizens with sewer problems.
