Guest Guest Posted October 18, 2005 Report Share Posted October 18, 2005 Councilman Doran, we know that you and your fellow council members visit this site on a daily basis---but only Kelly (hey, you get what you can get) has ever taken the opportunity or time to respond to any of the questions or comments posted here. You’ve promised Town Meetings. You got a website. And you could have posted here on this board. But you haven’t. Apparently, you’re above responding to the growing discontent in this town. But the questions remain---and the challenge for you to respond to them- whether in your promised “Town Meetings” (yeah, right), on your own website, or on this board. ---Tell us, Councilman Doran, what was that campaign of yours back in ’98 all about? Was it just a “hissey fit” like Higgins claimed? ---Whatever happened to those glossy newsletters of yours? Didn’t you say that we would get 4 of them every year? ---Whatever happened to all those promises you made? Why have you NOT KEPT A SINGLE ONE of them? ---Even though you kicked Higgins’ butt back then, and could have done the same to McDonough in 2000, why have you become so quiet and subservient to them ever since? ---Even though you pass yourself off as a “Ph.D. in Education,” why haven’t you made it your personal obligation to EDUCATE the residents of Harrison about what’s going on regarding redevelopment? ---If you have tenure and no one can touch your job on the town, county or state level, why have you not spoken out…why so quiet? ---Why keep people guessing about your role with Harrison Realty? Do you own it or are you a silent partner? What about your friend Fife’s role? ---When and if these big-chain restaurants come into town looking for zoning and construction permits, will you be disclosing that you personally own a liquor license? Shouldn’t you be recusing yourself from voting on such permits? ---Why did you let so many people down- people in the Fourth Ward and the Town itself who supported you against Higgins back in ’98??? ---If you were to run against McDonough next year, what would be your platform? How could you claim to be any different from Higgins/McDonough when you’ve silently supported everything these Two Stooges have come up with over the past 7 years? Yes, Councilman Doran, many expected so much of you because you promised us so much. But now, we’re just looking for answers to these questions. Time to step up to the plate, JimBoy. He's stayed quiet, because like others in town, DORAN was purchased cheap, by the mayor (didn't you know this Pete my boy or did the mayor do this quietly) How many people do we know are working AT PVSC??? SO WHY ARE YOU ASKING THESE QUESTIONS NOW? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The most important thing voters should DEMAND of anyone running for mayor or council is OPEN COUNCIL MEETINGS. There should be a public session at the beginning of each council meeting when residents can stand up and say whatever is on their mind or ask any question concerning the Town of Harrison. Every town in NJ, EXCEPT HARRISON, has a public session at each council meeting. The time is way overdue for Harrison to start respecting it's residents and allow them to address the council on their concerns. Also, the council meetings should be held at 7:30, the time when most council meetings are held throughout NJ and the rest of the country.
