Val, you should look up the term non sequitur, it may do you some good. To Matthew, You are very courageous and I applaud you. I suffered similarly in high school in a very conservative rural school when I refused to stand for the pledge. The pressure to conform is great, but empty ritual to appease the sheep does not lead to satisfaction.
