Do you actually believe that was the real Bush singing? I've seen that impersonator before, he's pretty good. Too bad you can't see him in the video, he looks a lot like Bush too!

If you read the entire description you'll find that it was indeed GW performing that song.

I don't believe it. It must be that vast Defeatocratic conspiracy.

Yea, like the time he was in the Oval Office pretending to look for WMD's. That was a conspiracy too, right? What a clown.

It's the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner, folks. The president traditionally gets roasted and pokes fun at himself.

Here's a video made by the Clinton White House for his last year in office.

I like the part when Bill learns how to use eBay. Nice swingin' soundtrack near the end, too.

That Keith thinks there's something substantial in the event to criticize simply shows again the level of discourse Keith is capable of engaging.

"I spent my days clearing brush

I clear my head of all the fuss

But the fuss you made over harriet and brownie

Down the lane I look and here comes Scooter

Finally free of the prosecutor"

Chorus

And then I wait and look around me

At the oval walls that surround me

I realize I was only dreaming

For there's Condi and Dick, my old compadre,

Talking to me about some oil rich Saudi,

But soon I'll touch the brown brown grass of home.

Chorus

That old White house is behind me,

I am once again carefree,

Don't have to worry 'bout a crisis in Pyongyang.

Down the lane I look, Dick Cheney is strolling

With documents he'd been withholding,

It's good to touch the brown brown grass of home."

I don't find any of this shit funny Bryan and neither should you. Is it possible to bring up Bush without you neocons countering with Clinton? GW's been pres. going on 8 miserable years now. Clinton's gone. Let it go.

You were asked to defend this and all you can do is bring up Clinton?

Many a truth are spoke in jest. This is a sad indictment of not only Bush's inepitude but also how he really feels about some very serious subjects.

I brought up Clinton simply to illustrate those who don't realize what's going on that it's all a joke.

There's nothing to defend, unless you really think that impeaching Bush for singing out of tune is truly a good idea.

Bryan, you hopelessly moronic dimwit:

There's nothing wrong with the Clinton video. It's well-produced and genuinely funny.

By contrast, Bush is making jokes about illegal activity and screwing the American people. That's why it's not funny. There's nothing funny about a president who doesn't understand that his actions have serious consequences. To him, pardoning Libby was just a big joke: he did it because he could, it's all a big laugh, f--- the rule of law.

If Clinton had made a joke about how he "got away with" the Lewinski episode, you might have a point, but he didn't. That's why the one is funny and the other is merely tasteless.

The press in attendance thought it was funny. You can hear them laughing.

Maybe the problem is with you and Keith?

Apparently you're too stupid to realize the difference between a presidential pardon and the commutation of a sentence.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

If Clinton had made a joke about how he "got away with" the Lewinski episode, you might have a point, but he didn't.

My point was that both were intended as jokes. The fact that you have no sense of humor regarding Bush's song doesn't affect that point; neither does the subject matter of Clinton's jokes.

That's why the one is funny and the other is merely tasteless.

Okay, then. Impeach him for singing out of tune and tasteless jokes.

Fine as long as he's impeached. They had to get Capone on tax evasion, so may they'll get George on this since he seems to get a pass on all of the truly serious issues. As far as the difference between a pardon and commutation. Just wait, the full pardon will be along sometime in early janruary 2009.

It's hard to tell the difference when he uses the standard for one to justify the other. The point is, a sitting president misused his power to make sure a former subordinate won't roll him. If Nixon's resignation hadn't been so traumatic, Bush would have been impeached, convicted and removed from office. It should have happened years ago. Making jokes about it is not funny. If the press understood the problem, we wouldn't have it.

Wha the f...Bryan? Are you on the republican payroll? Why do you refuse to see what's going on around you? And when specifically did I lie about anything?

Ah, no. You're using the power to do either and confusing it with using the power to its fullest (lying, or stupidity).

Non sequitur. Why would going to jail make Libby roll if he hadn't already? Bush had all the justification he needed for commuting Libby's jail time. It's extraordinarily rare to prosecute for perjury when no underlying crime was charged, and it's also unusual to send somebody to jail for perjury before his appeals have been exhausted.

Libby's sentence was commuted because it served Bush's interests.

Libby's sentence was commuted because it served Bush's interests.

You're just saying that because of the black helicopters that circle your house every night.

In other words, conspiracy theories commonly overlook the simple and commonsense explanation in favor of the one that falls in line with their fevered imaginings (BDS, in this case).

What would be the simple and commonsense explanation for Libby's commutation?
