The Hierarchy is starting to crumble in the town of Harrison. This town cannot even pull off a simple Basketball game without this New Regime stirring the pot.

In all the years of attending any function in the Community Center I have never seen anything like it. What we need is a dose of Jim Doran as Mayor to straighten out this mess. Well Second Warders….How can you walk with your head high now…You should run with your tail between your legs.

Wake up mayor do sometrhing about your councilman & his family they are

ruining all the sports in this town, and thats the one good thing this town offers for the kids now they can't even finish playing because of the councilman you having running the rec. I think the rec has there hands tied & do the best they can. Mayor put a stop to the hot head & his family it's only a trophy not the NBA.

I think we all know who was stirring the pot. Don't blame everyone else but the person who has started problems from the start. The politicians had nothing to do with the disgusting behavior, they were there to support the kids. I hope they got a taste of what really goes on and what the manager failed to address from the start and that is that this was not an NBA Draft nor are they high school players, they will eventually get to that level this program was supposed to be about fun and learning some of the teams lived up to the rules, a few failed to acknowledge them at all. I hope they replace the Manager of the Recreation. Lets face it he allowed this behavior, did you think this blow up wasn't going to happen? he broke the rules, he lied and most of all he doesn't give a rat's ass about the children of Harrison and he proved it. He wasn't at the games all season and now at the playoffs he shows up, why? because the politicans were there, and he had to try and make it look like he was into it. He is a failure and has been since he got there, time for a change he needs to go. The Children who played their hear out all season paid the price last night to have to witness a male parent going after a young girl to hit her, that is setting a real good example for every little boy in the center that hitting girls is ok???? real bad example it is a shame that the kids had to witness that garbage. You wonder why the world spins the way it does, I would say because people keep repeating the cycle. They should all be ashamed of themselves.

I think it's a shame that the kids are seeing the actions of the so called "grown ups" and thinking that is the way things should be done! Having the police have to show up at a kids basketball game because the "adults" couldn't behave!

Great example you are all setting. I hope you are very proud!

THERE WERE A FEW PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE:

PROBLEM #1= RECREATION COORDERNATOR (JB) DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO PUT TOGETHER A PROGRAM THAT WILL BENEIFT THE CHILDREN. INSTEAD DROPS THE S**T BAG ON VL LAP. WHO HAS NO CLUE HA-HA-

PROBLEM #2= DISBANING THE MENTALLY CHALLANGED FROM COACHING.

JIM DORAN IS NOT NEEDED.. WE NEED A NEW REC. COORD. IN ADDITION TO ONE BIG TROUBLE MAKER TO MOVE OUT OF TOWN !

MY SUGGESTION TO THE WANNA BE MAFIA, PACK UP THE KIDDIES AND HEAD SOUTH

SOME PEOPLE SHOULD WALK WITH THEIR HEADS UP THEIR A#$. NEVER MIND BETWEEN THEIR LEGS.

You make it sound like it was someone's fault other than the parents who started the mess. More than 1 kid was too old to play, but a big stink was only made about 1 kid. His parents had reason to be annoyed that their kid was being taunted - and taunted by parents no less - that is totally out of control. And it doesn't help matters when the kid's coach puts a big "C" on his shirt for the finals just to rub it in. Both coaches were looking for trouble and they got it. Congratulations! The adults act like morons and the kids suffer when the games get cancelled. Now they're all calling the news and threatening to sue each other - go ahead - let the whole world know how stupid the parents in our town are. The kids played a great game and the refs did a good job. The coaches and a few parents on the other hand are a disgrace!

I was not there, but from what I heard from the children that were there, they lost a lot of respect for the adults that were involved. I have been to a number of games for all the sports in Harrison and the one thing I see that is upsetting is the trash talk that goes on. I am talking 7,8,9 year olds talking trash to the opposing team players in front of their parents and absolutely nothing is done about it. Why, because the parents are too busy trash talking themselves. Respect starts in the household, if it is not taught there, it only makes it harder for coaches or teaches to teach it. For any parent reading this, things have to be changed before something happens that cannot be taken back. I have seen it all before.

Just wanted to let everyone know what really happened at the rec center concerning rec. basketball. The league is made up of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. They were supposed to have a league for the 6th and 7th grade but they didn't get enough children to play. The solution was to put two older boys on each team and that is what was done. This was done by the rec not by the children. Recreation basketball should be about developing the childrens potential and not about winning at all costs. During the season, one team played their two older children for almost the entire game because this would give them the best chance to win!!!

Nothing was said about the age of certain children until the playoffs started. Only one child was singled out because of his age and that he was in the sixth grade. One of our councilman went so far as to go to the mayor to try an stop this child from playing in the playoffs. Could this be because his grandson was on the opposing team. Why does the councilman start showing up for games at the end of the season and not from the beginning? Why does the councilman and the rec. allow coaches and parents to taunt a child during a game bringing the child to tears. To yell and scream 6th grader at a child is just disgraceful and the councilman and rec. did nothing. How does a coach after shaking hands with the opposing team run up to an child and poke him and tell him GOOD GAME 6th GRADER, again bringing the child to tears. You being a parent, what would you do if someone taunted and put their hands on your child? Nobody went after a woman.

The parent only went to warn the woman to not lay a hand on their child.

Why does a councilman run up to a parent in a threatening manner and accuse the parent of calling his grandson a midget when he should be worried about his daughter taunting and threatening a child.

Rec sports should be about developing kids skills and not about winning at all costs.

We all like to see our kids win but win or lose, we should always be proud of them.

As parents, we need to control ourselves at kid's sporting events. Sometimes we need to take a time-out. Our recreation dep't needs to take a good look at the way some other successful youth programs are run and take some notes.

First of all, just because your sister wants his job, all of sudden its the Rec Coord's fault that the coaches were out of control. If these two coaches didn't hate each other it would not have mattered for one minute that the 6th grader was playing. No one cared that a 5th grader, old enough to be in 7th grade, was playing because he wasn't on a team they hated.

And second of all, let's be clear about the "male parent going after a young girl to hit her." That "young girl" is the mother of 3 so she ain't that young and she went after the guy's kid to taunt him further after the game. The guy was screaming and yelling yes, but gonna hit her, not likely. He probably would have hit the male coach who jumped to her defense, but he would have deserved it because he was defending the one that was wrong. That "young girl's" sister even went after the parent. These people are all crazy. Both coaches involved should be banned from the Rec - not their kids - just their parents and fake uncles!

It was someone's fault, in fact there are a few to blame, the kid should not have been in the league especially when they had a list started for the 6th 7th and 8th grade, maybe they would have had enough to start a league, when you fill out the waiver one of the questions is your grade, the league was for 3rd,4th and 5th and then there was supposed to be another league for 6th, 7th and 8th. He is the only 6th grade player and nobody was picking on him, I am sure his parents knew, I am sure his Coach knew and that is unfair to the rest of the team it is like running a Freshman team against 7th graders. You also need to get your facts straight there is only one side calling the news, the town hall, george bush and who ever the hell else they are calling. Think back to baseball? think back to soccer? who was unhappy with everything? who?? lets put the this to rest the kids have suffered enough so maybe within the year and until next season, maybe everybody can grow up and keep in mind it is for the best interst of the kids and it is for the kids to learn and have fun. Nothing else.

Just want to make it clear that no one went after a young girl. The young girl is a grown woman who was taunting an 11 year old child and poked him in the shoulder yelling GOOD GAME 6th grader in his face and the Grandfather was yelling at the kid from behind her. The Father of the child went to warn her not to lay a hand on his child. During the past three games, the child was brought to tears by this group of parents. Let's get the story straight before be run our mouths on this forum. If you weren't their , you won't know the whole truths as to what happened.

Harrison rec needs to make some serious changes from top to bottom. When a child is allowed to be taunted and heckled by some coaches and parents and nothing is done about it. Serious consequences can result. It's a shame when a councilman uses his influence to will his grandsons team to win at all costs. I would like to know why by putting a letter C on a kids shirt is rubbing it in the other teams face. The kids are the ones who suffer from this. I hope some serious change comes to Harrison rec. We have some pretty talented kids in this town. We just need better coaches and role models for them..

Well I will tell you this no other Coaches were informed that they were taking 6th graders because I asked let me REPEAT IT WAS FOR 3RD, 4TH AND 5TH GRADERS!. Ok next did anyone hear what the 6th grader said to the coaches son?? Did you see the 6th graders Father start with the coach at a previous game when he had a lot to say, did you see the 6th graders father justify his son cracking someone in the face not once but three times befor they sat him down for 2 minutes?? so who was really the problem? Stop blaming the Councilman, for your information he tried to make it exciting and showed up to support the kids throughout the season not just the end, I was in the gym that night and he didn't get loud in fact he had his hands in his pockets and the 6th graders father started yelling putting his hands in the air and Victor walked away if saying shame on you for talking like that to a child then it is obvious you have a personal problem with this man that you would make up lies to burry him. Victor I thank you for the effort you gave to making this program a go considering if we waited around for the rec manager we probably wouldn't have had a league so thank you for caring about the kids, I think you are the only one that does.

Can somebody tell me how calling a sixth grader a sixth grader is taunting? taunting is saying "you S**K" or booing at them. And as for the poor sixth grader who was supposedly crying, I heard he called the other player a "midget".Now thats taunting. It's sad how M.S.(coach/disease) claims she is there to coach the children, yet one of her players was embarresed every time he did something wrong. Yet nothing was said or done about that. And she keeps that little girl behind on defense when her team has the ball. What is that teaching that little girl, that she is not needed. And you are right, the rec needs to change, they need to get rid of that thief jb and stop letting the same lunatic, trouble making, loud mouth, no coaching skills(no, yelling at kids is not considered coaching)P.O.S.

I don't know where u get your info from, but you are way off. There is one sixth grader in the whole league, everyone else is in 3rd,4th,or 5th grade. Each team was not given two older kids and that sixth grader was not placed on that team because they needed players he was put there because that lard ass coach saw him playing around in the gym and asked him why he wasn't playing and he said because he was in the sixth grade. So "Coach Porky begged jb to let him play for her. J.B., "Hard Hat",and the child were the only ones aware of what grade he was in. It had nothing to do with age it was that he was the only sixth grader aloud to play. Oh and by the way JB skipped over 13 other sixth graders to let that one play. SO GO F**K YOURSELF and tell the truth not what that fat B**ch says

Perhaps because I wrote in complete sentences, with punctuation to boot, you didn't understand me - I did not say no one was to blame. I said it was no one's fault OTHER THAN THE PARENTS WHO STARTED THE MESS.

Keep nagging about the 6h grader - the kid played the whole season and you start complaining about him when you knew you would have to face them in the playoffs. You want someone to lose their job because he let an extra kid play b'ball. Are you serious? Then you have the nerve to say "best interest of the kids, blah, blah, blah. Do you hear yourself?? The best interest of the kids would have been to let them play without the parents acting like morons!
