Guest Guest Posted November 19, 2004 Report Share Posted November 19, 2004 When is the Mayor going to get some new beds and pillows for the firefighters? The currrent matresses are lumpy. When we are in them for about 20 of the 24 hours of being the bravest they become uncomfortable. Chritopher Reeve died of a bed sore that got infected. This is just one more way we risk our lives. Those nasty bedsores can be a B**ch. The cops get everything, including those huge raises 2 weeks ago, when will it be our turn. The town should at least pay for our gas to and from Harrison to down the shore where we live, and the few who live in Harrison should get the extra money to keep. Now that the Metrostars deal is as dead as a cop at a barbecue, maybe a nice new firehouse can be built. We need HDTV and TIVO like we have at home. Also, a nice in-ground swimming pool would help us train for our water rescues in the maighty Passaic River. We can barely make ends meet on our pay whil the cops are driving Lexus cars. Guest you got problems Posted November 19, 2004 Report Share Posted November 19, 2004 Im not even a Harrison fire fighter and that paragraph sounded like 10 year old wrote it! Are you an adult? If so did you ask your kid for something to say to make fun of firemen. You know what would have been so much better if you sent that same article to the observer with your name signed to it. Citizen Posted November 27, 2004 Report Share Posted November 27, 2004 As a resident who reads KOTW regularly, I would like to make the following suggestion to all the police and firefighters who are continually taking shots at each other; Grow up and act like the mature adults you're supposed to be. This behavior is more becoming high school kids than 20 and 30 year olds and has gotten very old. You all want to be perceived by the town residents as professionals.
