The Sargeants and lietenants should walk also. What else do they do all day? Why not get to know the towns new residents instead of just riding by them. We also need a cop walking in West Hudson Park. I remember there was one a few years ago and he did a good job. Bring him back to keep the park safe for the children. They can't field an officer on foot or bicycle because of the sick abuse problem. There are only enough Officers to man Patrol cars especially on Squad 5 which has a history of sick leave abuse and poor leadership by the squad commander. Just another among the many who will retire as Patrolman. But maybe he can get a street named after him instead. That is great compensation for 25 years of hard work. No more freebies, just a sad paycheck unlike the mighty Fire Dept. machine. Look at baggy, does nothing and is making Lts. pay after he retires and gets his new job. Laughable, isn't it. He was the one who put him in the DB in the first place. VG really liked Joey even though he made a lot of nasty remarks about him. He realized that sooner or later he would grow up. I ask this question where was the Sgt (PH)? If he gets money he deserves it. As far as the remarks most of them were true. Oh by the way are a VG fan? Guest Guest Posted September 19, 2004 Report Share Posted September 19, 2004 Lets get the facts straight. Joey fell while chasing a felon and injured his knee. He was out almost a year. Before he came back to work, he filed a workmen's compensation suit against the Town of Harrison. This is SOP for Officers injured on duty. His mother had nothing to do with it. As far as being assigned to the Hudson County Municipal Task Force, politics had nothing to do with it. VG never listened to the politicians and challenged them many times. He told them that he was the only person who could assign someone to the Detective Bureau and even put out a memo to all officers regarding this and he was right. The Chief of the HC Detectives asked VG for an officer for the task force. Joey was selected because he had put in for it and had experience as a Detective. He signed a one year contract with the HC Prosecutor and did a very good job which he is very capable of doing. If Joey stopped listening to EM, TC and AL, he would be better off.
