Guest Martin
Kearny and Harrison should follow the example of Jersey City and open residential Prisoner Re-entry facilities on Kearny Ave. and Harrison Ave. Each building could house many African American and Hispanic American felons as they get back on track. It does not matter if they were convicted of drug sales, rape or murder. The residents should open their hearts and wallets to these misguided people of color. Both towns need to expand low income minority housing and the proximity to the Hudson County Jail is perfect as well as housing released convicts from other NJ prisons. It would only require an extra $500 per year from the taxpayers that can be assessed on their tax bills. Generosity towards the prisoners who committed these indiscretions is vital to Hudson Countys future. Fast track this residential program.
