Guest 2smart4u
ZerO is promoting the idea of manmade climate change for political purposes, to make it easier to fund his leftist environmental tree hugger agenda. Statistics (easily confirmed on Google) show that earth's temperature over the last 50 years has risen 0.07%, well within the normal variation expected. Climate change has occurred normally over millions of years and will continue to occur normally despite what zerO claims. All the Loonies that believe every word out of zerO's mouth should consider zerO's track record on truth telling.
Guest Guest
2Dim, Instead of posting yet another false claim, and trolling people to check it out on Google, provide a link to your source of information. You've either distorted the facts, misanalysed them, or both. How do I know? Because your politically motivated claim is contrary to the consensus of climate scientists worldwide. Being a bit of a fool, I Googled "50 years .07%" and came up with links to a John Coltrane album and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but nothing on climate change. When I added "climate change" and then "warming" to the search, that too failed to confirm your claim. Being as generous to you as is possible, you may have read something and misunderstood it. You've done that before, such as when you claimed that the Earth has been cooling since 1998. You made the statistical error of confusing the peak year (until 2014) with the base average. If you had the attention span to keep your comments on a single topic pertaining to global change, we could scroll up in the thread and see where you did that. Furthermore, your fact-free claim that climate scientists in the United States are marching to Obama's tune does not account for the fact that they were saying the same thing when Bush was president; the only thing that has changed is that the evidence has continued to accumulate, so that the conclusion is clearer; and of course, climate scientists from all over the world are not under Obama in any way. So your quasi-conspiracy theory wouldn't even be worth a response if there weren't millions of right wing sheeple like you who buy it. Anyone who is interested in the facts can read the IPCC report, or its summary or any of its sections by opening this link and selecting what you want to read. (Some point on the Farenheit or Centigrade scale; absolute zero; what baseline?) The fact is that average global temperatures have risen "roughly 1.53°F (0.85ºC) from 1880 to 2012". This buffoon, and many others like him, hasn't figured out that the deniers of global warming are the same as the deniers that smoking causes cancer. It's about money, lots and lots of oil company money. Just like it was about lots and lots of cigarette company money. If you don't see that, then you're not looking. OK, let's agree to a 1.5 degree increase in the last 135 years. Considering the world population increase and the industrialization of the planet that's occurred in those 135 years, a 1.5 degree increase is nothing to worry about. Global warming and cooling has been occurring naturally for millions of years and there's nothing we can do about it. zerO and his loony minions have been trying to tie "global warming" into his socialist environmental agenda for 6 years (blocking Keystone pipeline as an example) and you Kool-Aid drinkers of course bought into his nonsense. Have you read the IPCC report? The NOAA report? Any of them? Of course you haven't. You believe what you want to believe, no matter what the scientists from all over the world say. Facts mean nothing to you. The truth means nothing to you. All you care about is your extreme, idiotic right wing ideology. Your ignorant, fact-free argument has already been addressed here. If you had an attention span greater than that of a goldfish, you might be able to make a rational argument on a single thread, instead of continually opening new threads to say things that have already been thoroughly debunked. You wrong, you don't know what you're talking about, and obviously you don't care. If global warming stopped right now, at a 1.5-degree increase, the effects would be pretty much as they are now. But you ignore the fact that the rises in global temperatures are accelerating. IPCC predicts a rise of another 2.5-10 degrees over the next century, with devastating consequences as the temperatures continue to climb. Here is an analysis of future impacts from our EPA. You can't just say that Earth was another 3 degrees hotter in a previous geological era, therefore it won't be a big deal - when that happened, life on Earth was dramatically altered. Here is another analysis from Business Insider, pointing out that just 2 degrees more could be disastrous. Read this report, in pdf, from the National Resources Council at http://dels.nas.edu/resources/static-assets/materials-based-on-reports/booklets/warming_world_final.pdf. Remember, you can't just look at 1.5 degrees over the past 135 years: the rise in global temperatures is accelerating, which means that future increases will occur more rapidly than in the past, as the amount of carbon in the atmosphere continues to increase. Look, we all know what you're doing. You're a right wing nut-job who thinks that you can only get the truth from your approved sources. If you want the real truth, you must open your mind, research the facts and pay attention to the science. Yes, we know, you vote. That's what scares the hell out of me. The oil companies are denying it, just like the tobacco companies denied that cigarettes cause cancer, and for the same reason: to make money. If global warming and climate change weren't true, the oil companies would hire their own scientists to disprove it. With all their money, they can't even do that. If you can't see that, then you don't have a brain.
Guest Guest
Yes, that's right, idiot, IPCC predicts. That is what scientists do. And when practically all of them say the same thing, we need to listen. Like when Fox's election analysts predicted Obama's election based on which precincts hadn't reported in yet. Rove didn't like it but he had to accept it. Beats the hell out of listening to you.

Guest Guest
I remember another "prediction" Al Gore spouted. "The artic ice will be gone by 2014". I'm sure he got that one from the same crystal ball the IPCC uses. You're an idiot. This is what Gore said. But it doesn't matter what he said. He is a visible spokesman on these issues but his opinions do not change the science. The data are the data. All the data show very clearly that if current trends continue, the Arctic will be ice-free during parts of the summer some time during this century. According to some models, it will happen within 30 years, according to others it will happen within 70 years. But the numbers don't lie. The Arctic is warming, its ice caps are shrinking, and the Arctic will be ice free during part of the summer if these trends are not halted. Here is a recent article from the NOAA. Guest Guest
IPCC climate scientists do not use a crystal ball. They rely on mountains of data, collected from weather observatories all over the world, since 1880. Virtually everyone who has analyzed those data, has concluded that global warming and climate change are real, and are caused by human activity, mainly carbon emissions from our burning of fossil fuels. A reasonable person does not need a crystal ball to understand that if excessive atmospheric carbon has caused temperatures to rise, and we continue to increase atmospheric carbon concentrations, the climate will continue to warm. Here is a link to the latest IPCC report, yet again. (Open and read the summary for policymakers, which is in pdf format.) Here is an article from Climate Central about what we need to do about it. You should read these things, instead of just spitting out smart-aleck comebacks.
