Guest 2smart4u
I'm sure everyone's seen this one on the news. A guy was taking a flight from LaGuardia to Dallas yesterday and was greeted at the gate with 'Merry Christmas". He yelled at the woman, telling her he didn't want to hear any s- - t about that. He then boarded the plane and was greeted by smiling flight attendants who again greeted him with "Merry Christmas". With that he lost it. He started yelling at the flight attendants and then vented at the pilots who came out to see what the commotion was about. After refusing to calm down he was escorted off the plane to the cheers and clapping of the passengers who witnessed it. I rest my case. Guest Guest
Your case is dismissed, and you have to pay costs for bringing a frivolous case. The guy on the airplane was one person with a very bad temper and extremely poor judgment. How about the guy who put his Halloween zombie figures in a nativity scene on his front lawn. People had a fit. He has as much right to do that as you have to put up your Christmas tree. The "Christians" were out of control there. So what? Dont be a Douchebag on an Aircraft... the Sad part is that the Flight Attendants who were merely trying to be pleasant will probably end up getting "Sensitivity Training"

Exactly where did you extract from the news that he was an atheist? Just more fictional pap from your underdeveloped intellect and poor reading comprehension skills. Guest Guest
It must be something in the DNA of atheists. The wiring in their brains is faulty, we all know that. But the nasty billboards, suing school boards, suing nuns that are providing free school lunches in a public school, disrupting an airline flight and getting thrown off a plane because he was wished a "Merry Christmas" goes way beyond normal sane behavior. Guest Guest
What I dont understand is WHY You guys care so much....... I mean we Asatru have our own Issues with Christians and the White God, but you dont see us whining about it all the time. I don't see any whining from Christianity's critics on this site, even assuming that you are who you say you are. I see a lot of whining and avoiding from Christian apologists. We have told you why we care, repeatedly. Belief systems shape cultures. When the dominant religious belief system in a large and powerful culture like the United States is based on a fantasy that doesn't even make sense, you're begging for trouble. A belief system like that encourages people to believe things because they want them to be true, not because they are true. And when you add to that a theology that promotes the idea of eternity in a fiery hell as a component of justice, you're begging for more trouble; because with a theology like that, anything can be justified. Not coincidentally, justifications for slavery and for genocide against the Native American peoples were based on valid interpretations of the Bible. This explanation seems rather clear, and not at all hard to understand. What I don't understand is why more people don't get it. Actually, I think I do understand it, and it scares the hell out of me. Every atrocity ever committed, in all of history, had its genesis in people. We can do some rotten and abominable things. Religion should lift us out of that, not condone and promote it.
