Guest School Watch
The sad state of affairs that have polarized the Kearny School System as a result of Board members with personal scores to settle and the EGO of the BOARD PRESIDENT in pushing threw a Middle School concept that was rushed and that has put teachers behind the eight ball in preparing for the start of the school year. Politics and Nepotism has begun to spread like wildfire and in 5 years Kearny Schools will look like a POLITICAL LANDING SPOT for family and friends even worse than it is now. Parents, Teachers, and Residents need to pay attention as to who we elect to the Board of Education. If the public pays attention in November then the FAMILY FIRST, POLITICALLY CONNECTED won't stand a chance. If you stay home on election day it won't make a difference in 5 YEARS the UNION CITY MODEL will be the Kearny Standard. LETS HOPE THAT'S NOT THE CASE!!!!!!!!!!! If you stay home on election day it won't make a difference in 5 YEARS the UNION CITY MODEL will be the Kearny Standard. LETS HOPE THAT'S NOT THE CASE!!!!!!!!!!! Actually Kearny could never be Union City because we could never get the status as a special needs district like Union City, North Bergen, Harrison, Weehawkin, Etc. And oh how the money rolled in!....no Kearny always snubbed their nose at the county people of importance and all the money and aide went else where. Kearny could never produce a Rodgers, Menendez and certainly not a Sacco! Not even close! The only thing Kearny could produce is a Mayor who could not practice law for what ever reason in spite of graduating law school and got a nice cushey job from the county! What has he done to assist the school district? He may not be on the board but that didnt stop Rodgers or Sacco or Menendez, no he just took care of himself! Union City always got the best of everything, every pilot program fully funded by the state. They had computers when Kearny was asking what do we need with computers! So please explain what Union City model means? I have been there and have only seen they receive a great deal of money! Also, your comment about Family First and Politically connected. Are you for real? It may not be your family or your friends family with this board but when your fraction was in charge it was! And its been the same for Almost 40 years! Get over it! Get a new slogan like "i want my family First!" And make sure you stamp your feet and whine while you sat it! You lost control and power be pissed but tell the truth. Don't use scare tactics! Kearny has needed to do something about delivering the full common core standards to middle school students for years! You cannot do it four times across the town. It is simple numbers! It may not be a perfect plan but it is a start toward what is long over do! Again, I have to ask you what does creating a middle school in order to meet state mandates and deliver common core to all students have to do with Union City? Guest Guest
Holy Crap...you are saying that like it's a BAD thing??? You name three of the most Blatantly Corrupt people in Hudson County Political Circles as if it were something to STRIVE For. Really? Wheres your proof? I just have to laugh at people who say that. The only way you would know that for sure is if you were involved in the corruption. FER is deceased and as far as I know he was never indicted for anything! As federal prosecuter Christie went after every democrat he could especially in Hudson County. He tried to eliminate as many as he could before running for Governor Sacco and Menendez still here and there schools and towns receive twice as much state aide as Kearny! If I remember correctly it was the Kearny crew years ago who went to jail! North Bergen just received recognition for being one of top high schools in the state based on test scores in a "b" factor school group. What did Kearny get? Did North Bergen or Union City apply to the state for $ because they can' t pay their bills? Kearny did. Read the paper. So Kearny had Mayor and two councilman found guilty of corruption while in office. Current Mayor and councilwoman get cushy county jobs while taxes increase and services decrease? Hmm...maybe we should strive for something or someone else. You are obviously a very small minded individual because you assume success has to be corrupt? Show me the proof to back up your statement and I will agree with you. Anybody in politics with some brains and skill laughs at Kearny's elitist west hudson attitude! Yea, keep striving the way we are! Will be bankrupt soon! I really hope you are not a KHS grad because if so it is embarrassing. You are so uneducated to accuse people of corruption on a public forum on your say so without some proof to back up your accusation. I have no personal stake in these individuals. I just know they have always been able to bring more state money into their towns. Why has not one of Kearny's elected officials has ever strived to advance themseles in the political arena in an effort to help Kearny? Why? Because they would not know what to do if they had an opponent! Now that the Kearny Mayor and Council woman from the third ward have taken care of themselves maybe they can look out for the rest of the tax payers! They are paying their taxes with your money. Their strategy working out great for them! Open your eyes before your mouth!

They have for years! NBHS received national recognition by US News and World Report. We need to do better! Just about every HS in Hudson was ranked higher. Maybe we should start by hiring a super who is certified! As far as the " just the facts" what is your point?
