Right wing slime bags on the Supreme Court do it again.

This time, again by a vote of 5-4 (guess who were 5), the judicial arm of the Republican party has decided that employers' religious objections should limit their employees' health care. That's right, if contraceptives violate your employer's religious sensibilities, they don't have to cover you for that.

This is none of the employer's business. Yet the most activist and unreasoning court in many decades has just done all the mental gymnastics to ensure that the corporation won out over the individual - again - and that our country's legal system continues its steady and destructive march to the extreme ideological right wing.

In the end, the people will not stand for this. Let's just hope that the end of this politicization of the courts will end soon.

Funny how it's only "Politicization of the Courts" when YOU Disagree with the Decision. If you had bother to actually READ the Decision, and the case, you would have known that "Contraception" wasnt the issue, ONLY the 4 drugs that are also considered "Abortifacients" ANY other Presctiption Contraception wasnt an issue. It's all rather amusing that you folks on the left automatically accuse people who disagree with "Parroting Fox News" when you, yourselves routinlely fail to do your own Due Dilligence, and instead just parrot HuffPo or whichever Lieberal outlet/

The thing people haven't figured out about the right wing is that they'll say anything. You can't respect what these people say, because they'll just drive every discussion into fantasy-land. They've done this very successfully for several decades now, to the point that there are ridiculous debates over whether climate change is real and whether evolution ever happened.

Right wingers don't care if the government doesn't work properly. They don't want it to work. They can sabotage it right into the ground, then point the finger and say "see, see we told you, government doesn't work." Well of course it doesn't work when they get their hands on it, especially when the only things that can get done are what the big corporations, banks and hedge fund managers want.

Meanwhile, the people are getting screwed, and idiots like 2Stupid4Words, who is getting screwed right along with most of the rest of us, is helping them do it. Because he lives in a fantasy world. He's one of the most open about it but there are tens of millions of Americans who think pretty much like he does. And they vote.

Eventually, people will figure this out, but not before tens or hundreds of millions of human lives are disrupted and our kids' futures are destroyed. That's why I keep responding to this idiot. Not respectfully, because this is a kind of respect that has to be earned. This idiot, who calls himself 2smart4u, Patriot and Kearny Christian, makes a lot of people roll their eyes. He's not persuading anyone. But what most people don't realize is how common his idiotic worldview is. That doesn't mean we should all go on KOTW and beat him up. But we do have to stop being quiet about the idiocy he's spouting, and we have to get active. The big boys with the big money aren't playing around, and we can't either.

I read the case. The second paragraph of the Court's syllabus states that 20 contraceptives were at issue, including 4 that may inhibit development of the fertilized egg by preventing its attachment to the uterus. So OK, if you're goofy enough to think that a single-celled fertilized egg is a person, then you can call that abortion and not contraception. But that is a radical and unreasonable view, which is not held by virtually anyone who understands what a person is. A person is not merely one cell. One cell has no brain, and therefore no conscious awareness. To form a person, the cell has to divide many times, then the cells must differentiate, forming the various body parts and organs, including the brain, which produces consciousness. Neither you nor anyone else remembers when they were just a single cell, and when the cell that became you was just one cell, it had no awareness whatsoever - because it had no brain by which to process consciousness or any form of awareness. It had no brain waves because it had no brain. By no reasonable standard is a single cell a human being, and the mere fact that some people have gone so over-the-edge against any and all abortion should not mean that the rest of us are required to take that anti-scientific nonsense seriously.

Idiot,

The official Supreme Court syllabus of the case uses the word "contraceptive" to describe the case 20 times. Scalia uses the word "contraceptive" in the majority opinion 67 times. Ginsberg uses the word 34 times in the dissenting opinion. Read the opinion, and see for yourself. Or just use the "find" function on your computer to search for the word contraceptive.

So what you just told us is (1) you didn't read the opinion, (2) you took your "news" from an obviously partisan source, with a political agenda, which spun it with complete disregard for the truth, (3) you bought the spin without checking the facts, and (4) you called someone stupid and uninformed, even though that person got it right and you got it wrong. Don't you ever get tired of embarrassing yourself?

Well, no, you wouldn't because you don't have the brains to realize how stupid and uninformed you are. You're dead wrong, and you don't even care. But when you think someone else is wrong, well now, that matters.

This isn't a matter of opinion. Anybody can check this, and see that you're just plain dead wrong.

You truly are an idiot.

I did read it. If you had bothered to read it, you wouldn't have made those remarks. Both sides identify the case as a contraception case dozens of times, maybe more than a hundred. Just because the owners of Hobby Lobby think that preventing a fertilized egg from being implanted in a uterus is an abortion doesn't make them right. Sperm is not the most concentrated form of blood, even if Anita Bryant and other scientifically ignorant people insist that it is.

You're such an idiot. President Obama will be out of office in a couple years, and then someone else will be president. What matters is the legal precedent, how this decision will affect female employees whose reproductive choices will be restricted because of their employers' archaic and absurd religious beliefs, and the social and political developments that go along with all of that. Those effects linger on after a president's term in office, no matter who the president is. What matters is us, as President Obama has told us many times, not him - or her, as the case may soon be. You just don't want to admit that you're wrong - as though that wasn't obvious years ago.

Must take a lot of energy to hate someone so much, especially when he is so wildly successful. He's going to finish his second term while still in his mid-fifties, and history will record that under his watch, the nation was at peace, the economy improved, and we got health care legislation, which no president could accomplish in 100 years of trying. He will be recorded as a president who accomplished things despite a ridiculous degree of opposition from the other side. Then he's going to become obscenely rich via writing, speaking and consulting. Meanwhile, he has a charming and intelligent wife, and two daughters that anyone with any intelligence would be proud to call his children. You must absolutely hate it.

But thousands of women and children killed in Bush's senseless wars are far less sacred- he referred them as collateral damage. Typical Right to (some) Life hypocrites.

You're missin' the forest for the trees, chump. American women are not going to put up with having their employers deny them equal access to contraception based on the employer's religious beliefs. The Democrats will push for amendments to the law to stop this, and Republicans will oppose any change. This will further alienate the Republican party from women, with whom it already has major problems. It will also continue the erosion of respect for institutional and in-your-face religions. We've bent over backward to accommodate religious beliefs and practices but with things like this, more people are going to get sick of it and push back.

So thanks for the gift.

OMG, are you really this stupid ? No one is restricting anyone's reproductive choices. If you want to take a pill that will kill a fertilized egg then you spend $10.00 and buy it yourself. Hobby Lobby doesn't have to provide it for you. Your lack of intelligent thought is exactly what got zerO elected.

Of course Hobby Lobby is restricting reproductive choices. Not having your medical care covered by your insurance is not a prohibition but it is a restriction.

When you say the case "had nothing to do with contraceptives," and the majority opinion (by Alito, not Scalia) uses the word "contraceptive" 67 times to describe the case, you're not in a position to call someone else stupid.

And there's no point to having insurance if you have to buy your medical care separately. Talk about stupid.

Meanwhile, I can just imagine the blood curdling screams if this was a law limiting access to guns.

Stupid,

Well, apparently you've been called stupid enough times that it finally got to you. Unfortunately, you're still stupid. You used the word dummy against someone who you said didn't know what the case was about. Only in saying that, you proved that you don't know what the case was about. Now you're saying that if your insurance doesn't cover your medical care, no problem, just go out and buy the care yourself.

You really shouldn't call anyone else stupid if you're going to do things like that.

So if my employer has a religious objection to all medical care, then I should pay for everything out of pocket, right? If I were you, I would stay away from the word "stupid."

Harry Truman was considered to be a failure during his time in office. Historians now judge him to have been one of our greatest presidents. History lends perspective that most people don't have while events are unfolding. Most people - and you're among the worst - react, instead of thinking and analyzing. If things are tough, they blame the president. But Obama inherited a nightmare. He will be ranked somewhere in the middle, probably within the upper half, considering his success on health care legislation, and his resurrection of US foreign policy from the nightmare Bush and Cheney left behind. Historians will also take into account the complete and absolute opposition he has faced from Republicans.

Then there's his personal success story. He rose from nothing to become President of the United States. He had no connections, no money, he wasn't even the "right color." Yet he became president in his forties, one of our youngest. And he's going to be rich.

Your comments about Mrs. Obama only demonstrate your complete inability to think rationally or carry on any kind of intelligent conversation.

Maybe, but life is longer than an election cycle. Instead of acting so childishly, think long-term, about the issues for once.

Ok, let's think long term. Shall we discuss the 17+ trillion debt ( zerO's added more to it than all the previous presidents combined), or shall we discuss the thousands of alien children pouring across our southern border (the same border that zerO said is secure). Are they long-term enough for you.
