This current Coach has no people skills with no connection to his kids and shows no fairness in evaluating all his talent when putting the best players on the field. He has no positive communication with parents and created an atmosphere where his players are afraid to make a mistake for fear of being taken out of the game. Is this the best we have to offer our kids, a negative unhappy man with no personal skills what so ever who reflects it in his non coaching style. The High School Adminstration needs to take a good hard look at this program and how it can be improved. The best place to start is by getting rid of this Head Coach!!!!!!!!!!!! We couldn't agree more with the above post its a shame that these kids have to be subjected to this Head Coach and his aggressive demeaning style of coaching and his childish antics when these kids don't preform to his liking. Its sad that the Athletic Director doesn't see what the many parents are seeing in this man and the fear he puts into his kids if they make a mistake on the field. The time is now to remove this man and put a coach who can relate in a fair way to all his players. WE'LL SEE HOW THIS SEASON GOES DUM DUM Have been watching practices and sad to say this Head Coach has no CLUE as to what he is doing he has no set program and doesn't take any input from his assistant coaches, he cannot evaluate talent, PLAYS FAVORITES. This season is starting and will finish in Disaster and it is my belief that the Athletic Director and Pickel should be held accountable. Mr Millar has shown no leadership in addressing this program after a number of complaints over the years past and present he takes no position in a position where he should take a position. Parents are stuck with this man and it will be a bad season and Pickel will blame the kids and will never blame himself. Brace yourself for a bad season!!!!!!!!!! The guy VIOLATED THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, lied to his superiors, tried to sully the name of one of Kearny High's finest students ever, and attempted to profit off his harrowing experience by writing a book about it. Guest Guest Posted April 3, 2013 Report Share Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) While they're at it they should get rid of the ****** freshman coach too...she's *******...the only good one in the whole program is the JV coach...they should make him the head coach for varsity...intelligent, knows the game and relates well to the players...unlike sour pickle...he actually teaches the kids and treats them like human beings...The current varsity coach isn't going to be able to even field a team if girls keep quitting...what is the AD doing about this???...and why is this man still being allowed to coach?...what a disappointment... For some reason most parents have "my kid is the best and should always start and get the postition they want syndrom". The team this year doesn't seem that bad they started the season with a record of 4-0. Not too bad. Everybody is a critic! You take over coaching any sport and take all the crappy parents in this town complaining and coaching from the side lines. Coaches put in a lot of time and get no thanks at all. This is the real world. Everyone doesn't get whatever they want or can change the rules to get their kids what ever they want world.. This Coach will never be able to bring this program to the next level with losses to Harrison in the first round of the Hudson County Tournament and a First Round a loss in the State Tournament its time to give a positive shot in the arm to this program and get rid of this Coach Pickel and give someone else a chance to put this program on the right path and make this a program to be proud of once again. This Coach gets a lot of thanks in the amount of $8000 plus for 3 months of work. Its not about crappy parents, Its about how ****** treats parents like CRAP. Shows no respect for people period.
