Guest Guest Posted January 3, 2007 Report Share Posted January 3, 2007 I hear our new councilman from the second ward want's the town to suspend paying for health benifits for town employees and is in the process of a fact finding plan to replace our full time fire dept. with a complete volenteer dept.like our neighbors in east newark. He also wants to increase the towns police dept. with more part time special police to save more money we are spending to make our town secure. HEAVEN HELP US !!!!!!!!!!!!! Ask her or Rocco, you may have to fill out a public info. request form, you'll see NO CERT. OF OCCUPANCY ISSUED FOR THE APARTMENT AT THE CORNER OF RODGERS BLVD. SO. AND WARREN STREET!!! HOW THE HECK DO YOU GET ELECTED FROM AN ILLEGAL APARTMENT AND WHY HAS THIS FAMILY LIVED THERE FOR OVER 10 TO 12 YEARS WITHOUT ONE???? Health benefits are a contractual issue, they cannot be arbitrarily suspended by anyone. Replacing the fire dept with volunteers ?? Way too stupid a statement to even dignify with a response. Save the health benefits before everything else. You never know when illness or injury strikes, if not us, it could be our wife or child who comes down with a permanent, debilitating EXPENSIVE lifelong disease that would clean out half of our savings! Many of the lower level employees would not be able to afford paying health insurance for a whole family. HEALTH COVERAGE IS A 'NECESSITY', NOT A 'FRIVILOUS' RELAXATION EXTRA! She was lazy, unpleasant and took time off as she liked. She thought that her business didn't stink so she did as she saw fit. Sorry &&**, you're not above law or any one.
