Guest 7.6 trombones
What ever happened to the Kearny Fire Department Band? Does anyone know? I used to enjoy watching them, and listening to them. I hope they are all ok.

It's Scumbags like you that make people no longer want to serve in positions like Firefighter, Police, and Teacher. I'm glad i never had any ambition to be a FF, considering the contempt that the people on this board seem to hold them in, I, personally would be very reluctant to put MY life on the line for you. They have it tough compared with all of us little people in the private sector. Did I get that backwards?

You are kiling the taxpayers in this town.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So let me get this right...no band....they are trash collectors now.....and the town administrator auctioned off all of the the bugles and drums to get a pay raise. No wonder people hate this town. When is this all going to end?

Been around fireman and cops all my life. Maybe the old timers volunteered, but not that went out. They all want as much time off as they can get and just as much over time. Now I wouldn't get mad at them for that but they still whine all the time. Geez,, it's their job, it's what they chose to do with their lives, firemen have to fight fires and cops have to chase the bad guys.

I sure if you look around you could hob-nob with more prominent individuals.....such as town officials. You see...unlike the firemen and cops who get only one pension...some of the town officials are in line to collect two and even three pensions when they retire. How do they do this.....by having multiple titles.....ask the mayor....or the administrator.....they know the score...and boy do they. So when your taxes skyrocket...don't blame the cops and firemen...they have been paying their share of the pension payments....not like the town who is now crying foul because they had to start paying into the system again. And all that money they didn't have to pay in over the last five years or so....where did it go? Into the general fund? Even I'm smarter than that. Be afraid...be very afraid...ask where the money went. Who now has deeper pockets?
